They are back. Finally … after 13 years. I am not sure how us die hard fans have managed to wait so long.
The Manchester-based comedy drama evolving around the lives of 3 couples. Pete (John Thomson) and Jenny (Fay Ripley); David (Robert Bathurst) and Karen (Hermione Norris), with Adam (James Nesbitt), whose wife Rachel (Helen Baxendale) was tragically killed 13 years ago, leaving Adam to bring up their young son on his own. So nostalgic from the start as it was hard to imagine Adam without Rachel.
But it was an action packed first episode and a credit to writer Mike Bullen.
The cast are all such talented actors in their own right who gel so well together and seem to have picked up where they left off. It is like you have never been away.
With another 7 episodes to run I dare say that the series will not only draw in those of us who were hooked from 1997, but a whole new and much younger fan base with the smouldering Cel Spellman cast as Adams son, Matthew.
