Lampard, David Villa Help NYCFC Win 3-1 At Montreal


New York City's big-name signings David Villa and Frank Lampard both scored in a 3-1 win at Montreal on Sunday that maintained the club's outright lead in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.
NYCFC extended its lead to three points over Philadelphia which Scored two quick-fire goals to draw at home against New York Red Bulls.

Villa and Jack Harrison scored in the first half and Lampard added a late goal for his fifth in six games as NYCFC made it five wins from six games.

Harry Shipp scored for Montreal.

Philadelphia's Chris Pontius and C.J. Sapong scored goals about a minute apart to help the Union rally for a 2-2 home draw against the Red Bulls.

Pontius poked a cross from Fabian Herbers into a wide-open net to equalize in the 68th minute.

Sacha Kljestan scored twice for the Red Bulls.

In the day's other game, Diego Valeri scored twice in his return from an ankle injury to help Portland beat regional rival Seattle 3-1 and extend the Timbers' unbeaten streak to nine games.
