Skincare and beauty tips to keep your skin healthy this summer

As the seasons change, we need to alter our skincare and beauty regimes as well to match up with the ongoing weather changes and keep our Skin in its best form.

The heat, the scorching sun can damage our skin in many ways. It is extremely important to make changes to our skincare routine and beauty habits in the summers to keep the skin healthy and glowing.

Here are some simple tips that you can follow and look your best in this season.

  • Do not skip the basic CTM (cleansing – toning – moisturising) routine

A well-cleansed skin always looks good and healthy. Also, the hot weather tends to make your skin sweaty and often clogs the pores. Hence, it is very important to keep your skin well-cleansed to avoid breakouts and blemishes. Following the CTM routine twice a day (morning and night) is the first and very important step to maintain a good skin. Always remember to use products suitable to your skin type.

  • Scrub it off

The harsh weather in the summers causes more damage to our skin than in any other season. Regular exfoliation is important to keep the dead skin cells away and avoid further skin damage. Exfoliate your skin atleast twice a week in summers. Also, do not use the body scrub for your face. Opt for a mild scrub for your face. And, don’t forget to scrub the lips too.

  • Sunscreen’s your best friend

We are sure you already know this. But you will also agree that, we often ignore the sunscreen and its importance in our skincare. If you don’t want to harm your skin and keep it healthy for a long time, do apply sunscreen with good SPF. I personally feel, it’s best to use sunscreens with SPF 20+. It is apt for Indian skin.

  • Take care of those tresses

The harsh sun can damage our hair as much as the skin and hence taking care of those tresses is also necessary. Also, many times, the hair and scalp condition can also cause breakouts and blemishes on your face. So yes, keep your hair clean always. Do apply hair masks once a week to protect the hair against the damage done by the sun.

  • Follow the rule of ‘Less is more’ for makeup

It is always suggested to keep the makeup minimal in the summers to allow your skin to breathe and also to avoid the makeup to look messy due to the heat and sweat. Heavy makeup can not only damage the skin but also feels uncomfortable in the summers. So yes, keep it minimal and simple.

  • Opt for waterproof and smudgeproof products

For those of you who can’t do without makeup, opt for products that are waterproof and smudgeproof to keep your look clean and maintain it in this sweaty weather. After all, you don’t want your makeup looking messy right?

These were some quick tips for all of you to take care of your skin in the summers. And don’t forget the eat well and drink lots of water to keep yourself and your skin healthy.

Also, here’s a list of few things that can be handy and helpful to carry in your bag in this season:

  • Face mist
  • Sunscreen
  • Lip balm with SPF
  • Loose powder
  • A cc cream or tinted moisturiser (if required)
