Komatsu, the leading Construction and Mining machinery maker, recently introduced GD series of Motor Grader GD535. The Machine is designed to provide high productivity and 14% better fuel consumption. The KOMATSU SAA6D107E-1 engine provides high performance and low emission and its common rail injection system provides precise throttle control, thus it delivers higher work speeds with high horsepower.
The machine is having two power modes selection system, P and E modes which optimize engine outputs and help to reduce the fuel consumption. The system allows the operator to select from either of the two modes, the P Mode- Maximize production by taking full advantage of engine output and E- mode suited for carrying out lighter work economically, which helps the owner of the machine to work efficiently in different working conditions.
The machine gives 14% better fuel consumption in the field compared with the Komatsu GD511A-1 motor grader. The Improvements in transmission and axles raises efficiency, and the sophisticated electronic engine and transmission control offers optimized output - all combined - realizing 15% better production, claims the company.
The operating weight of GD535 Motor Grader is 13820 kg and the blade length of 3.71 m3. The gross horsepower of the machine’s engine is 115 kW 154 HP / 2000 min-1 and net 108 kW 145 HP / 2000 min-1 and the machine minimum turning radius (mm) is 7,000.
The lock-up torque converter transmission is specially designed for Komatsu graders. This provides efficiency of direct shifting and operability of automatic shifting. There are two transmission modes of selections, one is Auto mode and Manual mode, the combination of manual mode and auto mode avoids engine stalling which leads to smooth operation in low speed.
The electronic over-speed protection helps to prevent engine and transmission damage due to premature downshifting and grade-induced over speeding.
The machine’s longest wheelbase ensures superior grading ability and its wide steering and articulation angle keeps short turning radius, for excellent maneuverability.
Operator comfort has given a high priority in the machine; the machine has excellent visibility for the operator, adjustable Control Console, ROPS/FOPS Canopy, Electric Throttle Control, etc.
The machine is designed for easy maintenance, the easy refueling from the ground eliminates the need for climbing on and down from the tandem. It is also having Service access platform, Easy access to service points, large fuel filter and fuel pre-filter with water separator. The machine is installed with ‘Maintenance Information Display’; it displays time left for the maintenance.
The motor grader installed with Equipment management system ‘KOMTRAX’ which collects and sends the information like machine location, working record, machine conditions, etc. remotely. It helps you monitor the machine from distance, gives you Monthly SMR and working record.
