Russell Wilson is still swooning since marrying the gorgeous and talented Ciara last Wednesday at at Peckforton Castle in England. As he should be!

Speaking to People on Monday while rehearsing for hosting the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback opened up about the moment he saw the R&B singer walking down the aisle and becoming a step-father to Cici’s two-year-old son Future Zahir.

The 27-year-old gushed of the big day:

“I’ll tell you, the best part of the wedding was watching her walk down the aisle. I had so many [thoughts], but to see her gracefully walk down the aisle in that long train … and to realize I was going to spend the rest of my life with her gives me chills.”

The athlete said he knew the Texas native was his soulmate from the moment they met:

“Ever since the first day I met her, she’s always been, honestly, my best friend. We’ve been so close.”

We’re not crying, you are!

As far as the “low-key and private” wedding, Wilson says all the guests got down on the dance floor to none other than Earth, Wind & Fire until the early morning — which you know, got him and Ciara more than ready to consummate their nuptials:

“To listen to Earth, Wind & Fire – the best band in the land – perform for so long and entertain for us and all night long basically until the sun came up was really, really cool.”

And with all the baby momma drama going around with CiCi and her rapper ex, it’s nice to see Russell fully embracing his responsibilities as a step-parent:

“I think ultimately, the one thing I can say about being a step-dad and any person that’s a parent – but especially when you come into a new situation – the key is loving the child as your own. That’s the biggest thing.”

Adding:

“I want to have a bunch of kids — me and Ci do. I think that ever since the first day I ever met Ciara and Little Man, too, it’s been really cool and really special … Ciara’s such a great mom. She reads to him every night. I read to him too, and we just share so many special moments together. That’s what family is all about. Ultimately, it’s about giving back and loving as much as you can to your fullest. That’s what you’re able to do together.”
