Datsun is a name so popular among us during the 70 – 80s when Ambassadors and Fiats ruled the Indian market. It was a matter of pride to own the Datsun which had its roots established in 1930s. It was then taken over by Nissan, another giant automobile manufacturer from Japan in 1981. Staying in tune with technology, Datsun has launched an app called ‘Datsun India App’ to book the car  and aims to keep interested people updated on the latest.  It saves us the pain of tracking the vehicular updates in the news and automobile feeds. The interesting part which every one of us look for is the Price. Though the ex-showroom and on-road prices would be known only with the delivery of the vehicles, an approximate idea positions Datsun Redi-Go between Rs. 2.5 lakh and 3.5 lakh.  We find it as an affordable price segment for people looking to get the best of comfort and price factors.

Datsun Redi-go comes with all new 0.8L 3-cylinder fuel efficient engine and 5 speed manual transmission.  The car comes with a best in class ground clearance.  It is a great relief for city users in Chennai contending with small mountains as speed breakers.  Not a day passes without my Honda City getting a hit in these sharp ones laid in the most unexpected places on the road and the constant worry that we might have damaged the vehicle. Going by our experience, this is a plus factor for us.

Generally when we look to buy a car, we see the car from our interest with a view of what matters us the most and it is really interesting to see the new features  taking advantage of technology being introduced in the latest models.

Another interesting feature is the air-conditioning.  Tuning the air conditioning to Indian conditions is a must  and more a requirement for places like Chennai where temperature is nothing less than Hot.  Datsun Redi-Go comes with an 89 CC compressor with aluminum assembly and integrated center AC vent to make sure that 50% of the air flow distribution is given to the passengers on the rear seats. Thank god, there is one automobile manufacturer who worries about the people at the back.
