Zigwheels.com –
A wise man once said ‘Speed and Power’ are one of the most important things one would need in their life. While we don’t agree with it completely, they are going to make very much relevance in this report as we compiled the top five Quickest models we Tested in 2021. The process is very simple andndash; we head to our test location, strap the VBox, and launch the car from 0-100kmph, with the same person switching models so there shouldn’t be any weight or method discrepancies.
5) 2021 Volvo S90 Mild Hybrid – 7.6 seconds
The last car we tested this year, the facelifted , with its new 250PS 2-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid powertrain, is the fifth-quickest model we tested in 2021. And let’s be honest, no one expected a Volvo to be here. Despite it being a luxury sedan, the Volvo can be quite fast when you put your foot down. It did the 0-100kmph run in a respectable 7.6 seconds. Surprisingly, the S90 manages to get this time despite being a front-wheel drive sedan. But, it is the aggressive launch of this Volvo that helps it get off the line quickly.
4) Skoda Octavia RS245 – 6.2 seconds
Coming up next in this listicle is the super exclusive RS245. The budget (look at the others on the list) sports saloon that is taking the fight to the big boys. Our hearts still skip a beat when we spot one on the road. As the name suggests, the Octy RS sends 245PS from its 2-litre turbo-petrol engine to the front wheels. That’s more than enough to take the performance sedan from 0-100kmph in 6.2 seconds and sound amazing while doing so.
3) BMW M340i – 4.92 seconds
The of the M340i right here.
2) BMW M8 – 4.02 seconds
We have another model from BMW in this list. This time it’s the big daddy .
1) 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback – 3.93 seconds
With quattro all-wheel drive, a sweet sounding 450PS 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, and the looks to match the show, the facelifted aced this listicle by being the quickest model we tested in 2021. And it is so much fun to launch it as well. It builds boost first and when the bar is full, it throws you back in the seat holding on for dear life and before you know it, you are doing illegal speeds
It was so much fun that we pitched it against the flagship Audi electric, the e-tron GT. You would also be surprised to know that in the drag race. Petrol wins? You bet
These are the five quickest models we tested this year. Did you have fun reading this report? Then why don’t you let us know the quickest you have been from 0 to 100kmph in a car.
