Hyundai Venue Facelift Spied

Cartoq.com –

Earlier in October, the first spy shots of Hyundai’s facelifted Venue were leaked online. The vehicle was seen during road testing in its homeland South Korea and was cladded in a thick black sheet of camouflage. However, this time around we have another leaked image of the upcoming facelifted SUV, and we can spot a few more design details from this one.

The sub-compact SUV was wearing a body wrapped disguise in its latest sighting and it revealed that there will be a significant change in the rear of the car. From the picture, it is evident that the old rectangular set of tail lamps will be ditched for a set of modern spilt LED tail lamps. Additionally, it will feature a full redesign of the tailgate along with some tweaks to the rear bumper.

Apart from the rear, the earlier leaked image indicated that there will be some minor updates to the front fascia as well. On the sides, the soon to be facelifted SUV was spotted wearing some newly designed alloy wheels. However, other than that the general profile of the model will stay intact. Overall this mid-life facelift will just help Hyundai to bring the Venue to the 2022 spec, so as to continue banking on the success that their sub-compact SUV has enjoyed in our nation so far.

On the interior side of things, the Venue is already loaded with features, but we can still expect the Korean automaker to drop in some additional features to have an upper edge on its competition. As of now, the SUV offers features like a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and 20.32-cm touchscreen AVNT with HD display. It is also equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, push-button start/stop, an electric sunroof, wireless mobile charging, cruise control and BlueLink connected car tech. The car also comes with an in-built air purifier.

The safety features of the outgoing SUV include dual front airbags, front-seat side-impact and side curtain airbags along with ABS with EBD, rear parking camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Brake Assist System (BAS) and Isofix.

In terms of powertrains, the 2021 Venue offers the options between, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel unit and a 1.0-litre Gdi Turbo Petrol. The power figures of each of these are 82 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque, 99 bhp and 240 Nm and 118 bhp and 172 Nm respectively. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel comes with the options of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.0-litre GDi turbo petrol is available with a 6-speed clutchless iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
