Why we think that Hyundai Aura compact sedan should sell more?

Cartoq.com –

Everyone expected that Hyundai will be launching a facelift to the Xcent which is their compact-sedan. Instead, they launched an all-new model for their line-up by the name of Aura. The compact-sedan is based on the Grand i10 Nios which is a new hatchback from Hyundai.

Hyundai really wants Aura to succeed in the Indian market that is why they have thrown everything that they can towards the new compact-sedan. Today, we list down a few reasons why we think that Aura deserves to sell more.

Interior and boot space

Hyundai ensures that Aura has decent cabin space for everyone. There is ample legroom and enough headroom for tall people. Even if you have to seat a third passenger on the rear seat, it should not be a tight squeeze. There is a rear armrest with cup holders and adjustable rear headrests so that the occupants can be comfortable over long durations.

Hyundai also offers rear AC vents which come in very handy as they help to cool down the rear half of the cabin quickly and they serve an important purpose especially in a country like ours where we face scorching heat.

Then there is the boot space which is measured at 402-litres which is better than many other compact-sedans. The boot is also a fairly squared shape and has a large opening so that you can stick in wide luggage. If you are going on a long journey a big boot is very important as it will help you accommodate all of your luggage.

Features

Hyundai knows how to attract people by offering unique features. The Aura is equipped with many best in segment features. It comes with first-in-segment projector fog lamps, wireless charger, driver rearview monitor, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, voice recognition and Apple Car Play, Arkamys sound system, part-digital instrument cluster with multi-information display and emergency stop signal. Moreover, it gets cruise control, projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, smart key with push-button to start/stop, automatic climate control, front and rear power outlets, cooled-glove box and tilt steering. All these features combined make life easy on day to day basis and help Aura to stand out of the competition.

An engine for everyone

Hyundai made sure that there is an Engine for everyone which is why there are many options. There is 1.2-litre petrol which is perfect for daily city use as it is very smooth, quite efficient and is paired to a slick 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces 82bhp of max power and 114Nm of peak torque. This engine is also available with a factory-fitted CNG so you don’t get your warranty avoided by going for an after-market option. The CNG is still the cheapest and most fuel-efficient fuel for your car and it is the cleanliest of them all. So, you will be saving money while saving the environment also. For people who are looking for the frugalness of a diesel engine and they will be doing a lot of highway trips should go for the 1.2-litre diesel engine. It has a light clutch action and minimal vibrations for a three-cylinder engine. It produces a max power of 75hp and a peak torque of 190 Nm.

However, the highlight of the Aura is the 1.0-litre turbocharged, direct-injected engine which is carried over from the Venue. This engine helps to make the Aura, the most powerful compact-sedan as of now in the country. The Aura Turbo produces a max power of 100PS and a peak torque of 172Nm. This engine is oriented towards the people who like to have some fun around the corners and consider themselves a keen driver. The Aura is the only one who gives so many engine options. No other competitor is offering a factory-fitted CNG and a turbo petrol engine which makes Aura unique.

Automatic transmissions

Where many manufacturers are done with diesel engines. Hyundai comes up and not only they launch a diesel engine with Aura, they also offer an automatic transmission with it. The automatic transmission is also available with the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine. It is one of the best AMTs that you can find in the segment. The automatic transmissions are a big boon for people who have to drive through heavy traffic daily for their commutes. You do not have to keep modulating the clutch and gear so you don’t get tired even after long durations of being stuck in traffic.

At a starting price of Rs. 5.79 lakhs ex-showroom, the Aura manages to undercut many of its rivals and at the same time continues to offer value for money by being well equipped. Aura is definitely a very good choice who wants a compact car with the practicality of a sedan while offering many features and they do not have to spend a fortune to buy it. Hyundai Aura competes with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and the Tata Tigor.
