➳long distance can be hard. one of the biggest part of a relationship is actually being together, and if that isn't possible, maybe it's not the right time.
➳if this person is, say, away for school or work for a shorter period of time but still lives nearby, it is totally worth it to stay in touch.
➳it depends on how serious it is. if you really love this person, you'll find a way to make it work and it won't feel like a burden. if you feel like it's too hard or too much effort, then maybe it's not worth it.
➳try imagining your life without them. how is it? if it's terrible, stay in touch. don't let them go, because one day you might be reunited.
