Pukka Herbal Tea Review – Chamomile, Vanilla & Manuka Honey

When I’m stressed, I turn to herbal teas. Chamomile tea has been my go-to for years now because of its efficacy in helping me relax and fall asleep better at night.

Pukka herbal teas are a favorite of mine. I recently tried their new Chamomile, Vanilla, and Manuka Honey tea. After a week of drinking it, I can attest that this tea is definitely one of the better ones they offer. For this review, I’ll be discussing what I liked and did not like about this tea. I’ll also be going over the ingredients in detail, taste notes, and packaging. Finally, I’ll share my overall impression of this herbal tea.

Let us begin…

Ingredients

I was initially drawn to this tea by its ingredients: the tea was made in the UK, and it contains chamomile flowers, sweet and bitter fennel seed, licorice root, vanilla pod, and manuka honey.

Chamomile has a calming effect on the body, making it a great option for an evening drink before bedtime or to combat stress and anxiety. It also helps induce sleep.

The tea smells like black licorice, which is unsurprising because it contains licorice root as one of its ingredients. I’m not sure what’s going on with licorice root in all these herbal teas these days—it seems like it’s in everything! If you have high blood pressure or any other condition that requires avoidance of licorice products, this might not be the tea for you.

The ingredients are all-natural and ethically sourced, so you can feel good about your tea choice!

Tasting Notes

I was worried that the licorice sweetness would ruin the overall flavor, but it didn’t—it was actually quite pleasant. The chamomile is strong enough to balance out the licorice’s sweetness.

It’s also got a hint of vanilla and fennel flavor that blends in perfectly with all the other flavors to create one well-balanced tea that lingers on your tongue for hours after you’ve finished drinking it.

As this drink also has a natural sweetness to it, thanks to the manuka honey, I found it very enjoyable.

Packaging

It comes in a box of 20 tea bags and each bag is individually wrapped, which protects the herbs and keeps their aroma intact. The bags have a beautiful design and are also convenient for storage, travel, and serving.

Because of their elegant design and eye-catching appeal, these boxes are perfect as a gift for someone who loves tea! Plus, the organic cotton used in making the bags is better for the environment than traditional plastics.

Price and Value

Finding Pukka tea in my hometown was impossible, so I ordered it online from Amazon. It’s not the cheapest option out there (around $6 for 20 teabags), but worth every penny since it tastes amazing!

In fact, I think it’s pretty economical to buy this herbal tea considering how much we pay for Twinings in the stores here.

Steeping Instructions

To create the most delicious cup of tea, you will need to follow these simple steps:

  1. If possible, use purified water.
  2. Place water in your kettle and boil it.
  3. Place a tea bag in the teacup, then pour hot water over it.
  4. Let the tea steep for 15 minutes.
  5. Dunk the bag into your cup ten or more times to ensure full flavor extraction.
  6. Enjoy!

Overall Impression

Overall I think Pukka Chamomile Tea is a great value. They also have several other herbal tea blends that I would like to try, including a Lemon, Ginger & Manuka Honey tea and one called “Night Time.”

With its calming effects, it might help you relax and get to sleep at night if you have trouble with insomnia. It’s also a bit different than most Chamomile teas since it has some vanilla and fennel flavors, which makes it more interesting.

I highly recommend this product to people with anxiety issues or anyone who wants to relax. You can find them in many retail stores and on Amazon—at this price, it’s definitely worth giving a try!
