5 Best Glutathione Soaps (That Actually Make Skin Tone More Even)

The Skin color among individuals is determined by the amount and types of melanin pigment. Melanin is a brown pigment that gives our skin its color. It also plays an important photoprotective role in human skin against harmful ultraviolet radiation. There are two types of melanin in the skin: eumelanin and pheomelanin. The ratio of eumelanin and pheomelanin determines skin color, with higher levels of pheomelanin associated with lighter skin color and higher levels of eumelanin associated with darker skin color.

Melanogenesis is the process by which melanocytes produce melanin in response to UV exposure or inflammation. Antioxidants may decrease melanogenesis by blocking free-radical formation or by scavenging free radicals already formed. Glutathione is an effective antioxidant that can regulate pheomelanin formation, suppress free radical production, and reduce melanogenesis overall.

Glutathione has been shown to act as a depigmenting agent, for the treatment of human hyperpigmentation disorders. It is also known for its micro-exfoliation or skin-peeling effect, which helps in removing dead and dull skin cells on the top layer of your skin. This results in clearer and smoother skin that looks more youthful and even-toned.

In addition to its skin-lightening effect, using a glutathione Soap can help treat other skin problems like melasma, acne, or pimple scars and sun spots.

The quest to find a great glutathione soap can be overwhelming because there are so many options. But I’ve found five that work well, and they’re all listed below!

1. Shouvy Pure Glutathione White Soap

I recently tried out this soap and I have to say, I’m really impressed with the results. The first thing I noticed was that it really brightened my skin after just a few uses. The smell was also really nice – it was milky and floral, although it was a bit faint. At first, the soap smelled a little weird, but after using it for a few days, the fragrance became pleasant.

One thing that sets this soap apart from others is that it contains a list of great ingredients, including vitamins C & B, glutathione, coconut oil, and rice milk extract. These ingredients really seem to work together to give my skin a smooth and soft glow. The soap lathers up quickly and creates a smooth, creamy foam that leaves your skin feeling soft.

I didn’t experience any irritation from using this soap, and I found that it slowly removed the tan on my hands. It also did a great job at removing unevenness on my elbows, knees, and stomach. One thing to note is that it works gradually rather than providing immediate results, so you have to be patient and use it consistently to see the full effects. In fact, it could take at least 4-5 weeks before you start to see any visible signs of improvement.

One thing that I found really impressive was that this soap worked well in fading the discoloration from shaving. It only took about a week to see a difference, and I was really impressed. My husband’s old sports injury scars have also gradually faded with the use of this soap, which is a nice bonus. For my mother’s melasma, it worked just as well—impressive!

I usually use an exfoliating sponge when washing my face, which may account for the results I get. However, one thing to note is that the soap does burn a little bit if you leave it on for more than 30 seconds. It also can be a little irritating to sensitive skin at times, so you may want to test it out on a small patch of skin before using it all over your body.

This soap does dry out my face, so I need to use a moisturizer right after. It also melts a bit quickly, so you have to be careful not to let it sit in water. I found that cutting the bar into 3 or 4 pieces helped make it last longer.

Another drawback is that the bar is pretty small – about the size of a hotel soap bar. It’s also kind of expensive at $7.95 for just a 4 oz bar. However, if you’re looking for a soap that can really brighten and improve the overall appearance of your skin, this one is definitely worth trying out. Just be prepared to use it consistently and give it time to work.

I’ve noticed that this soap makes my skin extra sensitive to sunlight, but a good sunscreen will easily fix that problem. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using this soap and would definitely recommend it to others!

2. NATICHAA Glutathione Collagen White Soap

I recently purchased this soap to help with the scars on my face and shoulders, and I have to say, I’m really impressed with the results. After just a few uses, I noticed that the skin discoloration was slowly diminishing and my freckles were much lighter and less noticeable. My under-eye area also had a noticeable change and appears much lighter after using this soap.

The scent of this soap is a little strong, but it smells heavily of rice, which some people may find off-putting. However, I did find that it lathers up so luxuriously and really brightened my face, which was a major plus. It also worked as a cleanser, complementing my skincare regimen nicely (by using Witch Hazel to tone and Clinique Moisture Surge to moisturize).

I did find that the soap stung or felt a little itchy at times, especially around my nose. However, the sensation was nothing unbearable. I would suggest to other users apply moisturizers to the face and lotion to the body after the use of this soap, as it can be a little drying.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you use it twice a day, the bar won’t last for an entire week. To keep your soap from getting wet and dissolving, you should store it in a dry place with plenty of air circulation. I also wish the bars were larger. The current size feels too small for my liking.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this soap to anyone looking to improve the appearance of scars and discoloration. Just be prepared for the strong scent and be sure to follow up with a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

3. Koji White Kojic Acid & Glutathione Skin Brightening Soap

I’ve been using this soap for a few weeks, and I am really impressed with how my skin has reacted. The soap is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and is white in color. It comes in a pack of two bars, which is convenient.

One thing I really appreciated about this soap is that it doesn’t have a strong fragrance. It also doesn’t leave any residue behind, which is a major plus. That being said, it will sting slightly if some get into the eyes, so be careful.

In addition to glutathione, the soap contains kojic acid—a skin-lightening agent that also provides antioxidant protection.

I definitely noticed that the soap made my inner thighs, knees, elbows, and body scars way lighter after just a few uses. However, it can be very drying, so I recommend using a heavy-duty moisturizer or lotion right after using this soap.

Additionally, I saw improved discoloration on my face and it worked well on new acne scars. However, I didn’t see much improvement on old dark sunspots. I’ve also used the papaya and kojic acid soap from this brand, which helped reduce my hyperpigmentation.

One thing that sets this soap apart from others is that it lasts a lot longer compared to other glutathione soaps I have tested. It doesn’t melt away like other kojic soap brands either, which is a nice bonus.

The only downside is that the bars are a little small – I wish they were a little bigger for the price. However, if you’re looking for a soap that can help lighten scars and improve discoloration, this one is definitely worth trying out. Just be prepared to use it consistently and follow up with a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

4. Kozicare Skin Lightening Soap with Glutathione

If you’re looking for a simple, inexpensive soap that will help fight pigmentation and peel your dead skin off, this is the soap for you.

It is a white bar of soap with nice packaging—you can see what the soap looks like before you buy it. It comes in a plain cardboard package, sealed in a plastic wrapper. The soap is extremely grainy and has a strong perfume fragrance (which thankfully dissipates after showering).

One of the things I liked about this soap is that it is inexpensive compared to other whitening soaps. It contains 0.50% Kojic Acid, 0.50% Arbutin, 0.50% Vitamin C, 0.50% Vitamin E, and 0.30% Glutathione, which are all ingredients that help fight pigmentation.

This soap is great for targeting age spots, underarms, inward thighs, and even private parts. It even helps to remove tanning from the arms and feet. The soap helps you peel away dead skin and reveal a lighter complexion over time.

I did notice that it took a month or more for me to actually see any difference in my skin when using this soap. It does tend to dry out the skin, so it’s important to follow up with a moisturizer after using it and to wear a sunscreen with at least SPF 50.

One thing to keep in mind is that this soap can be hard to find in stores, as it is an Asian brand. Additionally, it is important to store it in a safe case as it can melt easily when in contact with water.

Overall, while it may take some time to show results, I found this soap to be an effective option for lightening the skin and reducing the appearance of dark spots.

5. LA Organo Glutathione Skin Whitening Soap

A friend introduced me to LA Organo Glutathione soap, and at first I was skeptical. But after using it for a couple of weeks, I was impressed by the results.

This soap is good for all types of skin and is enriched with glutathione as its main ingredient. It also contains other beneficial ingredients like Arbutin, Kojic Acid, Aloe vera, and Shea Coco Butter, which work together to give you soft, smooth, and glowing skin. It’s suitable for both oily and dry skin and doesn’t leave an oily residue.

One thing I really appreciate about this soap is its high foam. It lathers up well and feels luxurious when you’re using it. It’s also great to know that it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals, making it friendly to your skin with no side effects.

While it does work slowly, it has helped in regaining my natural skin tone with extra brightness. It has also been effective in removing sun tan, pigmentation, dark spots, and sunburn from my skin. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed that my skin tone had lightened by about 1 or 2 shades.

One downside is that the cost per soap is on the higher side. It can also be hard to find in stores, as it is an Asian brand. However, if you’re willing to splurge a little and can find it, I would definitely recommend giving this soap a try. It may take some time to see results, but it’s definitely worth the wait.

Other options to consider

These brands have all been around for years and are well respected by their customers and the beauty community in general (particularly in Asia). And while I haven’t personally tried them all yet, I’ve heard great things about each of them.

  1. Renew Glutathione Skin Whitening Soap
  2. Dr. James Advanced Glutathione Skin Whitening Soap
  3. AE Naturals Glutathione Skin Lightening Soap
  4. G-GLOWSIK Glutathione Skin Whitening Soap

If you’re from the Philippines or India, these would probably be your best options.

To conclude,

I hope this guide was helpful in your search for a glutathione soap. I think they’re great and useful additions to any skincare routine, so consider trying one out!

I’m curious to know what kind of glutathione soap you have or if you’ve tried it before. Comment down below and let me know!
