After a whirlwind, lifechanging trip to Albania, I’m back at home in Miami and craving some Indian food! Come along with me and my good friend Nina Unrated as we bring you another epic Indian food mukbang! This time, we hit up another of my favorite Indian spots in the city, Bombay Darbar in Coconut Grove. There, we would have an out-of-this-world feast that would include a mix of Northern and Southern Indian food. They used to be a small place with only 30 seats, but they have recently expanded to a much larger space. Beforehand, I had met with Derek from Bombay Darbar, who walked me through three different Indian cocktails including their Maharaja Mule (a nice, gingery drink that’s like the Indian version of a Moscow Mule. Then, I headed back into the kitchen where the chef and cooks were making kulcha, naan, a ginger-garlic paste, Chicken Tikka Masala, and more! I got to see their lunch chicken tikka masala thali, which comes with basmati rice, samosas, garlic naan, tamarind sauce, and more. In the back, they were also making lamb chops, yellow dal, and a huge amount of chopped onion masala. There were so many amazing aromas. I couldn’t wait to et! Back at the bar, they made me a mango martini with vodka and mango juice. It was salty and like a non-virgin mango lassi! Then, it was time to eat! We had sixteen dishes, including tandoori shrimp, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, brinjal mash, lamb kadai, four breads, a thali, chicken wings, lamb chop masala, and samosa chaat. After a sip of our drinks, we jumped on the tandoori chicken, which was like butter. It was melt-in-your-mouth good and is packed with flavor. Then, we tried the chicken tikka masala with paratha. It was so creamy and tasty and is basically butter chicken. I couldn’t get enough of it! Next were the tandoori shrimp, which were so smoky and succulent! I explained to Nina that the flavors here are authentic because they import their spices from India. Then, we jumped into the thali. It contained channa masala and aloo gobi along with yogurt, yellow dal, cauliflower, basmati rice, and more. The channa masala was too good, and the samosa was great as well! Next were the aloo paratha, tandoori paratha, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. The kulcha was almost like a caramelized red onion pizza. It was amazing with the tamarind chutney! The samosa chaat was so bomb! Then, we tried the paneer pakora, which is fried cheese, similar to a mozzarella stick, with the tamarind chutney. The tandoori chicken wings were amazing. We followed them with the lamb masala, which were sweet, saucy, and tender. Our final three dishes were eggplant mash, lamb masala, and a tandoori chicken salad. The eggplant mash contained tomatoes and coriander, and was so creamy and flavorful, especially with the bread! The salad was really nice and contained pecans, cucumber, mandarin, goat cheese, and chicken. It was glazy, crunchy, and the mandarins added some sweetness! The lamb curry was super tender and buttery. I could tell it had been slow-cooked. It was incredible with the tamarind chutney. We finished up with kulfi, which is Indian ice cream. The pistachio flavor was crunchy and tasted like fruit loops, and the mango was unreal. They’re so different from American ice cream! What an incredible meal!
