Find your companion this month during Subaru Loves Pets.
Every October we partner with our local shelter, the Humane Society of Cambria County, to help pets find loving homes. This month, we’re doing even more all while bringing fun activities to our community.
For every dog or cat adopted from the Humane Society of Cambria County in the month of October, we are donating $100 to the shelter, up to $3,100 total. Additionally the Humane Society will be running an adoption event all month long. New pet parents will receive a care package of items both for their new pet and for themselves, while supplies last. These kits range from care supplies to fun toys to useful items for the parents. Think about adopting this October.
We are excited to bring back Pet Trick or Treat this month too! You may have seen the announcement already, but if not you can find more information here. The event returns Sunday, October 17th from noon to 2 pm at Windber Recreational Park. Find the main festivities under the Sequoia Pavilion next to the dog park. We’ll be bringing back fun events like the doggy carnival games, the costume contest, and, of course, trick or treating, but we’re also excited to bring Pet Portraits by WhatMiaSaw Photography and Betsy the Rescue Dog book will be available for purchase! All proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Society of Cambria County.

Finally, we want to salute the underdog. These are dogs who may have physical limitations or are elderly and require more care than the average puppy. Friday, October 22nd is National Make a Dog’s Day, but we’ll be trying to make a dog’s day every day this month. Join us this month for Subaru Loves Pets.
