The talk of the town is the Billboard Women in Music Event held on December 9 2016 in New York and aired on Lifetime Television Network. The Event honors the most successful women in music throughout the years' and was hosted by Hailee Steinfeld. This year's event was all about Madonna as she was named "Billboards Awards Woman of the Year"






We all know Madonna as the initial Queen of Pop ( sorry Britney ) who is known for re-inventing herself to suit the era and staying relevant. Referred to as "Madge" , she is also known as the hard as nails type in the Media and rarely shows emotions. At the event , the world was introduced to a softer side of the Icon who appealed to our emotions by sharing her time in the Industry where she faced "countless abuses" , robberies and losing friends. She reminded us that she is vulnerable like the rest of us.







We like to think of Halsey as the Cindy Lauper of the generation. She is fun , carefree and most of all standing in her truth! We saw an emotional Halsey being recognized for her contributions to the industry since the age of 19! The teary eyed free spirit graciously accepted her Award quickly after she expressed that she didn't want to get sad.


This dude came and took us to church ( with a choir included ) Labrinth delivered a stellar performance with a medley of Madonna Songs without even moving! The Singer used his smooth voice and gentle fingers ( on the Piano ) and brought the house down which ended in a standing ovation.


Andra is a well accomplished woman while she may not be known to the general populace. She is better known for the powerful song Rise Up and we definitely she why she was honored at the Event. Formalities aside , we could not help but notice her hair and outfit which were hard to miss ( in a good way ) Andra's Satin Ensemble featured a slip dress and Kimono, Large Hoop Earrings and Rosy Updo was giving us all kinds of life! Yaaas Andra , come all the way through!
