Easter in Ireland 2022: Tuam

Out for a walk in the lovely park

We arrived in Tuam in county Galway late in the afternoon on Thursday and had a neighbor call over for a cup of tea to welcome us.  We had little time to settle in because we were going out to meet some friends out for a Lovely meal at a restaurant called Crè Na Cille, literally meaning Earth of the Church or Graveyard clay. It is also the name of one of the most famous books written in the Irish language, I must admit I have not read it. The food wonderful, I went with their duck, and it was both lovely tasting and very filling. It was amazing to be able to be out and about with good people again. After the meal we got a few drinks at some of the local pubs. We got home a bit later than planned, but it was a very good night out.

The next day got of to a bit of a slow start, we had a lazy breakfast before we helped a friend with some errands, as she does not have a car and we had one. Then I had a nice stroll around town and some nice coffee. In the afternoon we called out to the house of some friends for a couple of visits. We had a great easy pizza dinner before going back to the house for a quiet night.

I woke up on Saturday with my nose a bit Blocked, I originally thought that it was just allergies, but the evening showed it was a nasty cold. I managed to do a small walk around in the park before I got too blocked up. We travelled on to a friend of ours in the evening and I was not feeling so great. We had dinner and watched a movie, but I had to call it a night early and I struggled to breath when I was going to bed because of my blocked nose.

Mostly lovely weather

It was a bit odd to have such a bad cold as I have hardly had one in two years, but I am sure I will get used to them again soon.
