Maintaining the health of your Skin is important. Like another part of the body it requires care and a certain amount of effort to keep it glowing. Women have seemed to realize to importance of a good skin care routine long back and thankfully, men are following suit. Since your skin is going to be the first thing a lot of people will notice about you, it is essential to groom your skin and look out for its wellbeing. So, let’s discuss some everyday grooming tips for men to get healthy, radiant skin.

1.Cleansing and exfoliating

For any working man, living in a city, a cleansing routine is an absolute must. Just think about, all the dust, the terrible pollution from those cars and trucks and the cigarette smoke you are exposed to on a day to day basis. None of it is good for your skin and needs to be removed as soon as possible. So, I’d recommend that you wash your face with a face wash immediately after coming back home. Choose the face wash according to your requirements. For example, you can find face washes with Salicylic acid and Benzyl Peroxide to remove acne.

Exfoliation is also a part of keeping your skin clean. The layers of dead skin that accumulate on your face and can lead to bacterial infections and thus needs to be removed by periodically. Further, the pores of your skin get blocked when not cleaned, which leads to them swelling in size and causing a breakout of acne. By exfoliation, the blood circulation in improved which causes break down of toxins and encourages new cells to grow. Weekly exfoliation is the key to have a healthy and glowing skin.

2. Moisturizing

Regular moisturizing is the key to keeping your skin hydrated and preventing a dull, flaky skin. The best time to moisturize is after a shower, shave or exfoliation. Be sure to moisturize after exfoliation and showering as it strips the skin of its natural oils and moisture. Consequently, the skin needs to be rehydrated. Regular moisturizing will keep your skin young and elastic.

3. Sunscreen

Sunscreen is perhaps the most often ignored part of a skin care routine. Contrary to popular belief, sunscreen is not only for the beach. The harmful UV rays of the sun are notorious for causing terrible damage to your skin which leads to skin cancer. Further, constant exposure to sunlight can cause signs of premature aging like wrinkles and fine lines. And of course, there is the issue of tanning.

Thus, sunscreen should be added in all skin care routines for complete protection against the sun. Sunscreen should be applied after a skin care routine, as it impacts the absorption properties of the skin. I suggest getting sunscreen with 30+ SPF.

4. Drinking Water

This might come as a shock to many of you, but drinking water is the most effective and simplest thing you can do to maintain the health of your skin. A well hydrated skin will always look more vibrant, supple and elastic than a poorly hydrated skin. It is responsible for delivering the nutrients to your skin and helps delay wrinkles and fine lines. Further, it helps fight skin disorders like psoriasis and eczema, increases the metabolic rate and flushes out toxins.
