Here are the top 5 best dishes of Indian states You got to have

India is famous for many different things, all around the world and one of them is its Food. India is often called a sub-continent and this remains true even when comparing the food of different states of India. All states have their staple dishes and even though some of them have trickled into other states, there is no denying that every state has a distinct and unique flavor in terms of food. So without further ado, here are the states with the best food dishes.

Rajasthan

The largest state of India is also the most diverse in its food. The best dishes from Rajasthan include Dal Bati Churma and Laal Maas. Dal Bati Churma consists of baked round breads (bati) covered in desi ghee and served with dal, usually panchmel dal which is made up of five different lentils and churma, a sweet mixture of crushed, deep fried batis and sugar/jaggery. Laal maas is a mutton curry prepared in a sauce of yogurt and hot spices like red chilies. It gets its red colour from the red chilies.

Punjab

Punjab is a culture-rich state and that also applies to its food. The most famous dish from this state is Makke ki Roti with Sarson ka Saag. Makki ki Roti is an Indian bread that is prepared using Makki (corn meal). Sarson ka Saag is a puree made mainly of green mustard leaves that are grown in agricultural fields all over Punjab. The bright yellow rotis and dark green saag laced with pure ghee tempering is visually very appealing and the sheer simplicity of this dish is what makes it so special.

Andhra Pradesh

The most famous dish from this state is Hyderabadi Biryani. This is an authentic non-vegetarian rice preparation. The main ingredients are rice (mostly basmati rice are used), meat and spices. Spices are a very important part of this dish as they give the rice the actual flavor and are what make this dish special. It is prepared using chicken or Sometimes mutton is also used.

Maharashtra

Vada pav is a simple and famous street food dish found all across Maharashtra. It is basically a batata vada, which is a fried preparation made from potato mixture dipped in gram flour batter. It is sandwiched between a pav (a bun like a miniature burger bun). Green mint coriander chutney and sweet reddish tamarind chutney is also applied inside it. It is quick to prepare and a succulent dish and is eaten by everyone from child to the elderly.

Tamil Nadu

Moving onto the southern tip of the country, Tamil Nadu is home to a world famous dish, Dosa. Dosa is flat bread made of a fermented batter of rice and black lentils and is somewhat similar in appearance to a crêpe of France. It is shallow fried on a pan and is mostly served with white coconut chutney and sambhar which is a lentil-based vegetable stew). For the non-vegetarian palette, Chicken Chettinadd is a must from this amazing state. Prepared with 28 spices, this preparation is hot and spicy. It goes well with any sort of bread or rice but my favorite is the combination of Chettinadd Chicken with appam.
