Master the Summers with these looks

Looking to nail the perfect street style? Here’s the top 5 street look styles for summers

The summers are around the corner and I just can’t wait to shed all these bulky winter layers. If you are anything like me, you too might have started visualizing all the cool summer outfits you want to flaunt. The naysayers might tell you it’s too early, but any fashionista worth their salt knows how long a good wardrobe takes to assemble. I can’t wait to break out those shorts and tees that haven’t seen the sun in so long. So, in this noble pursuit I have assembled a list of the most chic elements one needs in their wardrobe to get the ball rolling.

Shorts and half shirt

Shorts have made quite a striking resurgence in the street look in the last couple of years. They have become the quintessential summer garment that one associates with coolness and comfort. Shorts, when worn with a half sleeves Shirt, result in a minimalistic yet tasteful look. A light blue shirt for example, can be worn with most shades of brown, white and black. A white half shirt looks excellent with a pair of pastel colored shorts or contrasting dark colored shorts.

Ankle-cut Chinos, T-shirt and loafers

Right in front of my eyes, the length of legwear like jeans, trousers and Chinos has reduced so much that they don’t even cover the ankle. Nowadays, the hip crowd likes to put those sexy loafers on display. A pair of fitted ankle-cut chinos, a plain tee and some loafers (or other slip-ons like boat shoes) have become the new definition of casual. This is one look you have to nail if consider yourself a fashion enthusiast.

Denim jackets

Denim jackets are the blazers of the casual world. Their incredible versatility allows you to add them to virtually any outfit to create impressive new combinations. A great look which has now become a staple in menswear is a plain white tee with black chinos and a denim jacket on top. This is only one of the many ways you can find a use for Denim Jackets in your wardrobe. They are available in shades ranging from pale blue to black, so you can choose the colour most suitable for your wardrobe.

Floral Shirts

Floral prints were perhaps my favorite thing about last year. The young and the fashionable have successfully taken over this trend from middle aged holidaymakers and adapted it into something hip and unique. They dominated all magazines, blogs and shoots last season and I don’t expect this fad to die down. Wear them in a casual environment with shorts or turn them into a statement piece by wearing them with chinos or trousers.

Snapbacks

Many of us snarl at the idea of wearing a cap, but when it’s 40 degrees outside and you feel that your head is overheating (and parts of your face get crème brulée d’), you wish you had worn a cap. The snapback is the perfect cap for a street look. These flat billed hats keep you cool without making you feel like a dork. Get one in a neutral colour like black or navy blue, so that you can easily combine it with your regular gear.
