Hon Joseph Iranola Akinlaja today (October 20, 2017) at Ward 7 of his constituency in Ondo East Local Government of Ondo State honoured an SSS 3 female student of Ogo-Oluwa Community Secondary School, Ugwuoke Glory who came first in a quiz competition tagged, ”Panacea For Social Unrest”.
The event coincided with the Ward meeting Akinlaja had earlier planned to attend with his numerous supporters on his return from Abuja after a week long legislative oversight functions, being Chairman of House committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream his committee has been probing kerosine explosion, scarcity and the integrity of numerous depots in the country as well as traffic gridlock on the Apapa corridor of Lagos State which is taking serious toll on the nation’s economy .
Speaking on the achievement Miss Glory and the glory she has brought to the community, Akinlaja said; ”I am happy for you and more importantly, I feel so great that this good news emanated from this Ward which is within my constituency. Don’t relent and I believe subsequently you will not only do this community proud again but the entire nation.
Continuing, the federal parliamentarian said, ”I see education as a very vital tool that is used in the contemporary world to succeed. It is important because it is used to mitigate most of the challenges faced in life. The knowledge that is attained through education helps open doors to a lot of opportunities for better prospects in career growth. You have started well and God will see you through in your academic pursuits.”
He however, expressed appreciation to everyone in attendance at the meeting and assured them that he will not renege in his campaign promises.
