Weekend In Paris: A Photo Diary

A few weeks ago, my family and I took a short trip to the stunning- and stunning is really an understatement here- city of Paris for my mum and I's birthday. Although we went to Paris all the way back in 2010, I think it's fair to say that as a eight/nine year old (wow... it really was a while ago) you just can't appreciate the true beauty of it all- and returning has been on the agenda for a few years now! Here's a little photo diary I put together of the highlights, before I get into one of my tangents, and I hope you enjoy having a scroll through as much as I do!

It's fair to say that after departing from Dover at around five that Friday, we really weren't going to see much of Paris that evening- but the next day was packed with all sorts, and apparently... a lot of walking (32,104 steps, if we're going to get technical)! As we have been to Paris before, we didn't want to concentrate our trip around the same places- so I tried to find a few hidden gem or two, and I think that the Musee Gustave-Moreau was one of them:
Another key point of interest for me were the Jardins du Luxembourg- it was the shame that the sun didn't come out until a little later, but nevertheless... here they are in all their glory:
Having visited the two places above, we realised that we actually had a lot more time than we thought we would, so here are some photos from the a little stroll we had in the heart of the city- visiting some old favourites like the Pont Alexandre III.
Finally, I was incredibly keen to see Paris at night- given that it's something we missed last time around. Needless to say... it was one of the best decisions of the trip:

We solely dedicated the second day to exploring the beautiful region of Montmartre- again, another area that I was keen to visit. We had a little stroll around, as you do, but also made sure to pay a visit to the Sacre-Coeur (oh, what a walk that was!) as well as the Wall of Love- before we had lunch and went back homewards. The weather was gorgeous that day too, 26 degrees I believe? Oh what I'd do to have the weather back, and of course to be in Paris again...
