The Christmas Beauty Edit

Time goes quickly- am I right? For me, 2016 flew by and it's strange to think that it's now time to start thinking about my Christmas Makeup; well... not that there's not too much to think about! If you want to see what makeup I'll (most likely) be wearing for Christmas, it's time to click the 'Read More' button!

I'll admit, my base hasn't changed very much since my 'Everyday Makeup Menu' post- but here it is in all its glory...

Primers- No7 Airbrush Away (£16.50) and Maybelline Baby Skin (£7.99)
Colour Corrector, though not seen in the image- Makeup Revolution Ultra Base Corrector Palette (£6.00)
Foundation- MAC Studio Fix Fluid (£26.50 with the pump), in shade NW13 which comes across much darker in the photo!
Concealer- MAC Pro Longwear (£18.00), in shade NW15- again, looking about 3 shades darker than it is!
Powder- NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder (£8.00)

After completing my eyeshadow (done before my base) and my base, it's time to add some dimension back into my face!

Blush- Benefit Sugarbomb from the 'Blushin' Babe' set (£29.50)
Bronzer-  Youstar Shape Me! Bronzer (2.99) and contour with the Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine Contouring Palette
Highlighter- Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights (£3.00)

Who would I be if I didn't go for a classic gold eye on Christmas?! Here is the look I'm likely to go for on the day...

Primer, although not in the image- Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (£5.49)

After priming my eyelids, I'll set the concealer in place with shade 'Skimp' from the Naked 2 Basics Palette (£23.50). Then, I'd start working on the crease...

For a transition colour, I like to take a (bright) orange shade from my 100 Colour E.L.F Palette, but couldn't get it in the photo! Afterwards, I go to my beloved Naked One Palette (£38.50) and start building up the crease with the shade 'Naked'- blending is key here! Personally, I find that the crease is best when you take a small amount of product, put it in the desired area, and blend like there's no tomorrow, before repeating! Afterwards, I add the shade 'Buck' to my outer v to really add depth and 'contour' my eyes- if you like. I finish off the look by appling Half Baked to my eyelid and Virgin in the inner corner.

I'm fully aware that I look like an alien at this point of my makeup routine, so it's time to add some mascara and eyeliner! For eyeliner, I like to use my Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen (£2.00) as it's quick and easy!

Now, call me OTT, but I love to mix and match mascaras and my current favourite combination is the Yves Rocher Volume Vertige Mascara (£22.50), Maybelline Lash Sensational (£7.99) and Lash Sensational Luscious (£7.99)

For me, filling in my eyebrows is an essential- though they're in dire need of threading at the moment!

I start by outlining the shape of my eyebrows with the Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil (£1.50)
Then, I start to fill them in with hair-like strokes with the NYX Tame and Frame Brow Pomade (£5.50)- I like to apply more product on the outer half of my eyebrow for a natural ombre effect.
After spending around 20 minutes trying to get my eyebrows to look okay, I set them in place with my mini Benefit Gimme Brow and Rimmel Brow This Way (£3.99)

Let's excuse the fact I don't have a photo here, but here are the products I use...

Lipliner- Essence Lipliner in 08, Red Blush (£1.00)
Lipstick- Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 04, On The Catwalk! (£2.30)
