My July 2023 Simply Earth box has arrived!
Simply Earth is a monthly subscription box that sends you a selection of Essential oils along with recipes for enjoying them. A peek inside!
An info card (printed on the back of one of the recipe cards) revealed July’s theme: “Bath & Spa”. It listed this month’s featured oils, along with any included extras. It also provided a few safety tips for each oil/blend.
A note from Katie — recipe formulator & certified aromatherapist — revealed a bit more about this month’s theme.
July’s recipes provided clear instructions for whipping up the following:
- Summer Breeze Bath Salts
- Rose Sugar Scrub
- Happy Rose Bath Powder
- Inhale Exhale Bath Salts
- Spa Day Roll-On Blend
- Fresh Cut Flowers Diffuser Blend
A sheet of pre-printed stickers was also included for labeling your creations.

Simply Earth Globulus Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Every Simply Earth oil is printed with a Simply Pure Promise that ensures that the product has been quality tested and is 100% pure. Ingredients are also clearly printed on every label.
The eucalyptus oil above is made from the wood and leaves of the eucalyptus globulus tree (hence, its name). Its scent is described as “clean and herbaceous” and can have a stimulating or energizing effect. Some of its common uses are: supporting respiration, easing seasonal discomfort, promoting immunity, relaxing muscles, and easing itching.
Simply Earth Palmarosa Essential Oil
Palmarosa essential oil is a great natural remedy for skin blemishes like acne, psoriasis, eczema, and similar conditions. Its antibacterial properties help to aid in balancing the sebum production in the skin to help maintain oil levels — while at the same time balancing your mood. Palmarosa is known for having a very sweet and floral scent that’s described as soft and uplifting.
Simply Earth Tangerine Essential Oil
Tangerine essential oil is known for its aromatic citrus scent that can assist in aiding digestion, supporting your immune system, and clearing your mind. It also effective cleaning properties, making it great to use in DIY cleaning products. This particular batch of oil was sourced in Brazil from the peel of the fruit.
Simply Earth Downtime Essential Oil Blend
“Downtime” is July’s only blend and was designed to help you kickstart the process of becoming relaxed and rejuvenated. It contains a soothing combination of frankincense, marjoram, bergamot, lavender, and ho wood essential oils.
Natrasorb Bath Powder
Natrasorb Bath Powder is made with modified tapioca starch which allows it to absorb and carry large amounts of carrier oils, emulsifying wax, and essential oils. When it comes in contact with water, it immediately dissolves — releasing the oils and spreading them out in the water. It also keeps bath salts from clumping and improves the hardness of bath bombs.
Dried Rose Petals
These all natural dried rose petals are great for sprinkling on top of soap, mixing into scrubs, bath bombs, and bath salts. They add a great pop of color and light fragrance!
Bath Salt Soak
This custom blend of mineral-rich natural salts can be added directly to your bath or blended with your favorite essential oils. It contains a mix of epsom salt, Pink Himalayan salt, Hawaiian salt, and Dead Sea salt.
Here are the recipes that I’ve made so far:
Fresh Cut Flowers Diffuser Blend
Supplies needed: Tangerine Essential Oil, Downtime Essential Oil Blend, and Palmarosa Essential Oil.
The easiest of all the recipes, it simply required me to fill my diffuser with water, then add the specified amount drops of each of the essential oils above. Once added, I switched on the diffuser and let the flowery aroma fill the room.
Inhale Exhale Bath Salts
Supplies needed: Almond oil*, Palmarosa Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Natrasorb Bath Powder, Bath Salt Soak, 1 oz jar.

To begin, I needed to mix together the almond oil and essential oils in a small bowl. (I chose to use a small jar that would also be used to store it.)
Next, I added a tablespoon of Natrasorb powder, followed by a tablespoon of bath salts.
The end result looked a little wetter than I was anticipating, so hopefully I added the correct amounts of everything. It did smell nice though!
After securing the lid, I placed the provided sticker on top so I remembered exactly what was inside.
Summer Breeze Bath Salts
Supplies needed: Almond oil*, Downtime Essential Oil Blend, Tangerine Essential Oil, Natrasorb Bath Powder, Bath Salt Soak, 1 oz jar.

Like the previous recipe, the first step was to combine the almond oil and specified essential oils into a small bowl/jar.
After adding the Natrasorb powder and bath salts, this one looked slightly less wet and took on a pretty yellow hue thanks to the tangerine oil.
Again, I added my label to the lid once completed.
Happy Rose Bath Powder
Supplies needed: Almond oil*, Palmarosa Essential Oil, Tangerine Essential Oil, Natrasorb Bath Powder, Rose Petals, 1 oz jar.

Again, I began by mixing together the almond oil and essential oils.
I then folded in the Natrasorb and some rose petals. — Pretty!
And so completes my third and final bath salt/powder recipe.
Spa Day Roll-On Blend
Supplies needed: Tangerine Essential Oil, Downtime Essential Oil Blend, fractionated coconut oil*, and a 10mL Roll-On Bottle*.

Another easy recipe that simply involved placing a specified amount of essential oils drops into the roll-on bottle and filling the rest up with fractionated coconut oil.
Then just replace the cap and carefully position the sticker/label & you’re done!
