Everything was shipped in a brown box sealed with custom Habitation Box tape.
A peek inside! — All of the items were individually wrapped beneath a layer of packing paper.
Beaded Chatham Trays – Set of 2
First up was this set of versatile wooden trays! I loved that they included not just one, but two of these matching pieces. Very cool. Each tray is made of a lightweight wood material and features pretty beaded edges with 1-inch “feet” to give them more height. The larger of the two measures approximately 18″ long x 9″ wide x 2″ high, while the smaller is about 14″ long by 7″ wide by 2″ high. I didn’t mind the distressed wood look, but I actually decided to transform them into something a little more “me”…
I painted them both white! It took a LOT of coats, but I was really pleased with the end result.
They ended up being perfect for displaying our homemade bar soaps at my girls’ middle school craft fair this past weekend.
Faux Greenery Garland
I love faux greenery because it allows you to bring a little “nature” into your home without having to worry about keeping it alive. Plus, it won’t attract bugs. This multi-use garland is roughly 5 feet long and has built-in “hooks” at each end for easy hanging. If you don’t have a good spot to hang it, you can also drape it along a table for nature-inspired tablescape or even wrap it around a banister. Full disclosure: The leaves on this garland originally had a white powdery substance on them to help them appear more realistic. I didn’t like how it rubbed off easily when being handled, so I decided to wash it all off.
Nautical Checkered Napkins (4)
Speaking of tablescapes… June’s box also included a set of four blue and white checkered napkins to give your dining table some summertime (and 4th of July!) vibes. The napkins were made in India and are comprised of 100% cotton. Each one measures approximately 19 inches long by 19 inches wide.
Napkin Holder Rings
To go along with the napkins, the box also featured a set of four wooden napkin holder rings. Each holder/ring consisted of 9 wooden beads fastened into a circle and finished with a matching raffia tassel. Thanks to the neutral color of the unfinished wood, these can be easily incorporated into just about any decor or color scheme.
USA Banner
The final item was an adorable little “USA” banner made of red, white & blue wood cut-outs and natural jute twine. It measures roughly 26 inches from end to end and has built-in “loops” for easy display. I don’t have very many Independence Day decorations for my home, so this was a fun surprise.
The June 2023 Habitation Box featured a nice selection of items that can be effortlessly incorporated into your current decor to freshen up your home for the coming summer months.
