My March 2023 Simply Earth box has arrived!
Simply Earth is a monthly subscription box that sends you a selection of Essential oils along with recipes for enjoying them. A peek inside!
An info card (printed on the back of one of the recipe cards) revealed March’s theme: “Face Care”. It listed this month’s featured oils, along with any included extras. It also provided a few safety tips for each oil/blend.
A note from Katie — recipe formulator & certified aromatherapist — revealed a bit more about this month’s theme.
March’s recipes provided clear instructions for whipping up the following:
- Pore Clarifying Face Mask
- Gentle Face Cleanser
- Beauty Within Toner
- Spring Rain Diffuser Blend
- Beautify Roll-On
- Exfoliating Face Wash
A sheet of pre-printed stickers was also included for labeling your creations.
March’s oils included:

Simply Earth Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Initially I assumed this was a blend of both lemon and eucalyptus — until I discovered that lemon eucalyptus is actually a single origin oil derived from the leaves of the Lemon Gum Tree. Who knew? (Clearly, I didn’t. 😉 ) This oil has been used for years as a natural bug deterrent and is also great for promoting immunity, relaxing muscles, deodorizing, and soothing skin.
Every Simply Earth oil is printed with a Simply Pure Promise that ensures that the product has been quality tested and is 100% pure. Ingredients are also clearly printed on every label.
Simply Earth Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea tree is one of the most popular/beloved oils around the world — thanks to its antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Some of its more common uses include combatting acne, sanitizing, repelling insects, deodorizing, soothing skin inflammation, controlling dandruff, and treating fungal conditions (like athlete’s foot). It has a slightly medicinal scent, with earthy/woody notes.
Simply Earth Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend
The only blend of March’s box, “Beauty Within” contains a sweet & earthy combination of myrrh, frankincense, rosemary, and lavender essential oils. When creating this blend, Simply Earth chose oils that are packed with skin healing properties to help improve your overall skin health and reduce the signs of aging.
Simply Earth Coriander Essential Oil
Coriander is one of the oldest herbs and spices known to date — whose seeds have been found in ruins dating back to 5000 B.C.! Some common uses for coriander essential oil include cleansing the skin, aiding in digestion, soothing head discomfort, promoting blood circulation, and more.
Rose Kaolin Clay
Kaolin clay is a useful ingredient in homemade skincare, as it naturally absorbs excess oils. Two of this month’s recipes call for kaolin clay and the baggie above contains more than enough for both of them.
Witch Hazel
Witch hazel is a natural, alcohol-free astringent that’s great for reducing inflammation and other skin irritations. It’s used in two of this month’s recipes.
Face Wash Powder
Simply Earth designed this face wash powder with a blend of customized, natural ingredients. It can be used alone (with a small amount of water) or combined with the carrier oil of your choice.
Here are the recipes that I’ve made so far:
Spring Rain Diffuser Blend
Supplies needed: Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend, Coriander Essential Oil, and Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil.
As always, this “recipe” was incredibly easy and simply required me to fill my diffuser with water, then add the specified amount drops of each of the essential oils above. Once added, I switched on the diffuser and let the sweet aroma fill the room.
Spring Rain Master Blend
Every monthly diffuser recipe also comes with instructions for making a “master blend” that gives you a pre-made supply to use as you wish.
Supplies needed: Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend, Coriander Essential Oil, Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and a 5 mL bottle*.

All you have to do is pour the specified amount of essential oils into the bottle…
…add the provided label — and you’re done!
Pore Clarifying Face Mask
Supplies needed: Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil Blend, rose kaolin clay, witch hazel, and almond oil*.

First, I needed to mix 1/2 tsp almond oil with 1 drop Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil. (You can’t quite see the oils, but I promise they’re in there!)
I then added 1/2 Tbsp kaolin clay and enough witch hazel to create a creamy, spreadable texture. I probably could have stirred it better, but you get the idea. 😉
Beautify Roll-On
Supplies needed: Tea Tree Essential Oil, Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend, Coriander Essential Oil, fractionated coconut oil*, and a 10mL Roll-On Bottle*.

Another easy recipe that simply involved placing a specified amount of essential oils drops into the roll-on bottle and filling the rest up with fractionated coconut oil.
Then just replace the cape and carefully position the sticker/label & you’re done!
