Urthbox February 2023 Subscription Box Review & Free Box Offer

Urthbox is a monthly snack subscription box that helps you discover safe, healthy and natural products from trustworthy brands.

Each month their expert buyers carefully select a range of products that undergo ingredient, source, calorie, nutrition and manufacturing reviews. Only the highest scoring products get approved for the box and passed along to subscribers. You can rest assured that you’ll never find any empty calorie junk foods included in your Urthbox. In addition, all items are guaranteed to be 100% GMO-free — either by way of third party certification and/or have an ingredient makeup that is 100% free of GMOs.

UrthBox offers 4 different box types designed to meet your specific needs and lifestyle:

  • The Classic – This is the do-it-all box with no dietary restrictions.
  • The Gluten-Free – This box offers the same service as The Classic, but in 100% Gluten-Free.
  • The Vegan – This box offers the same service as The Classic, but in 100% Vegan. No animal products or animal ingredients.
  • The Diet – This box offers the same service as The Classic, but with a strong emphasis on weight loss metrics including low calorie counts, low carbohydrate counts and low fat values.

Let’s see what’s in the February 2023 Urthbox (Vegan Box)!

Everything was shipped in a brown box with white Urthbox logos on both the top and front edge.

A peek inside. — This box was PACKED!

I counted a total of 22 items, so I’m going to assume that I received the “Family” box ($44.99 shipped for 21-23 snacks).

Hippeas Vegan Nacho Vibes Organic Chickpea Puffs

Yay, I love Hippeas! — These morsels of puffed goodness are 100% Vegan and made with all natural/organic ingredients including chickpea flour, rice flour, sunflower oil, seasonings, and pea hull fiber. They’re also gluten-free and non-GMO. I think I’ve tried every one of their flavors at some point, and they’ve all been awesome.

Louisville Vegan Jerky Co Maple Bacon Soy Jerky (x2)

I’m not sure why, but I never think to pick up vegan jerky when I’m food shopping. Maybe because I was always grossed out by the actual meat version of it? Either way, it was nice to see not one — but two full-size packages of maple bacon flavored soy jerky in this month’s Urthbox. It’s loaded with protein — 18 grams per serving and has just 250 calories per bag. Since it’s 100% plant-based, it’s also cholesterol-free!

Baja Organic Dried Fruit Mango Strips (x3)

Well it’s a good thing I like dried mangos — because they sent three bags of ’em! (These currently sell for over $7/bag on Amazon, so these 3 items alone are worth over $20!) This healthy snack consists of just one sole ingredient: Organic dried mangos. That’s all! No added sugar, salt, or preservatives. Just sweet tropical goodness.

Vegan Rob’s Probiotic Dragon Puffs

These “fire breathing” Dragon Puffs are made with plant-based, gluten-free ingredients including organic whole grain sorghum flour, sunflower oil, nutritional yeast, serrano chili pepper, sea salt, and various spices. Each serving contains 3 grams of protein and just 1 gram of sugar. It even contains the added health benefit of plant-based probiotics!

Cocomels Espresso Coconut Milk Caramels (x2)

COCOMELS!! These things are SO good. I first discovered them in a snack subscription box many years ago and it was love at first bite. They taste just like the non-vegan caramels I used to enjoy, but without any of the dairy. This espresso version includes the addition of organic brewed espresso coffee & real roasted coffee beans for an extra burst of flavor.

Altitude Snacks Trail Blaze Snack Blend

Altitude Snacks’ “Trail Blaze” is a healthy snack mix comprised of 100% whole food ingredients. It features a sweet & crunchy blend of dried apricots, roasted almonds, dried cherries, dried tart apples, and roasted macadamia nuts. The mix is gluten-free, soy-free, preservative-free, and vegan-friendly. Each 5 oz bag contains an impressive 5 servings!

Spudsy Vegan Cheesy Cheddar Sweet Potato Puffs (x3)

These crunchy snack puffs are made from “ugly”/imperfect sweet potatoes that would normally go to waste. They’re 100% plant-based and feature a blend of rice flour, pea protein, sweet potato flour, and various spices. I’ve tried a couple different Spudsy flavors in the past, but this “cheddar” one will be a new one for me. Looking forward to giving it a try!

Amki Classic Sesame Thins (x3)

These little snack bars have just 3 simple ingredients: Roasted sesame seeds, glucose syrup, and sugar. Due to the sugar content it’s not a super healthy option, but it does have 3 grams of protein per serving.

Camp Vegan Cheezy Mac

As a major fan of boxed mac n’ cheese alternatives, I was happy to find this new-to-me version from Camp (an equally new-to-me brand). According to the box, Camp has “set out on an adventure to reinvent family favorites predominantly from nature”. This 100% vegan, gluten-free mac n’ cheese is made with healthy plant-based ingredients including organic corn flour, organic brown rice, organic pea protein, non-GMO zucchini, and more.

Hippeas Sour Cream & Onion Veggie Straws (x2)

More Hippeas! But instead of the previous puffs, these ones are in the form of veggie straws. They’re also sour cream & onion flavored. Sadly, I’m not a fan of sour cream or onion so these will be passed along to someone who is.

Koochikoo Organic No Sugar Added Lollipops

These fruit-flavored organic lollipops are made without any added sugar and are instead sweetened with organic tapioca. According to the package, tapioca only needs 25% as much water as sugarcane to grow and has almost half the calories. Flavors include pineapple-orange, pomegranate-blueberry, Fuji apple, and blueberry-lemon.

Nūrange Cold Brew Coffee (x2)

The final item was a pair of canned cold brews from Nūrange. This zero sugar cold brew coffee is made with fair trade single origin beans and promises not to give you the jitters like other caffeine-based drinks. It’s also keto-friendly, vegan, and gluten-free.

I haven’t reviewed Urthbox in quite some time (since 2017!), so I was happy to discover that they’re still curating an awesome collection of healthy snacks. I absolutely LOVE that they offer a 100% vegan box option! I was impressed with how many snacks they were able to squeeze into the box and it was a great variety of sweet, salty, savory, and everything in between. Remember — for a limited time you can save 20% & get a FREE BOX with any 3+ month plan! — Just use coupon code NEWYEAR23 at checkout.
