A peek inside!
An info card (printed on the back of one of the recipe cards) revealed October’s theme: “Home Remedies”. It listed this month’s featured oils, along with any included extras. It also provided a few safety tips for each oil/blend.
A note from Katie — recipe formulator & certified aromatherapist — revealed a bit more about this month’s theme.
October’s recipes provided clear instructions for whipping up the following:

Simply Earth Copaiba Essential Oil
Copaiba is a sap-like substance (oleoresin) collected from the trunk of Copaifera trees. Native to South America, it’s mainly produced in Brazil, Venezuela, and Columbia. When used in essential oil form, copaiba is great for reducing the appearance of blemishes, detoxifying, supporting respiration, calming, and more.
Every Simply Earth oil is printed with a Simply Pure Promise that ensures that the product has been quality tested and is 100% pure. Ingredients are also clearly printed on every label.
Simply Earth Cajeput Essential Oil
Cajeput — pronounced “ka·juh·put” — comes from the same family as tea tree, eucalyptus & clove (with a similar medicinal scent) and is known for its antiseptic and analgesic qualities. It’s also considered an anti-inflammatory and is sometimes used to help treat minor skin wounds, colds, and inflammatory skin diseases.
Simply Earth Bergamot Essential Oil
Fun Fact: Bergamot was named after a town in Italy — Bergamo (obviously) — where Bergamot oil was first marketed. It has a fragrant citrus/floral aroma and is often used for its calming effect, as well as aiding digestion, deodorizing, promoting immunity, balancing cravings, and more.
Simply Earth Relief Essential Oil Blend
The only blend of October’s box, “Relief” contains a herbaceous combination of rosemary, copaiba, juniper berry, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils. It was especially designed to help soothe and relieve occasional discomfort. Simply Earth recommends using Relief Essential Oil Blend in a bath along with Epsom salts to help boost circulation which will assist your body’s natural healing processes.
Massage Bar Soap Mold
A small silicone soap mold was provided to use for the “Muscle Tamer Massage Bar” recipe. It features a series of little “nubs” to help ease sore muscles as you run the completed bar along your skin.
Simply Earth Natural Lotion Base
A one-ounce pot of natural lotion base was to serve as the main component in the “Sports Relief Lotion” recipe included in this month’s box. The lotion is made with natural ingredients and helps to soothe and moisture the skin.
Reusable Hot & Cold Compress Pad
This reusable bamboo compress can be combined with either hot or cold water — and essential oils — and applied to the area causing you pain, helping to relief & soothe it.

Home Remedy Diffuser Blend
Supplies needed: Relief Essential Oil Blend, Copaiba Essential Oil, and Bergamot Essential Oil.
This “recipe” was incredibly easy and simply required me to fill my diffuser with water, then add the specified amount drops of each of the essential oils above. Once added, I switched on the diffuser and let the aroma fill the room.
Sports Relief Lotion
Supplies needed: Copaiba Essential Oil, Bergamot Essential Oil, and Simply Earth Lotion Base.
This was an incredibly easy recipe that simply required me to open the pot of lotion base, add the indicated drops of essential oils, and stir.

Mover Soother Roll-On
Supplies needed: Cajeput Essential Oil, Relief Essential Oil Blend, Bergamot Essential Oil, fractionated coconut oil*, and a glass roll-on bottle*.

Another incredibly easy recipe that simply involved placing a specified amount of essential oils drops into the roll-on bottle and filling the rest up with fractionated coconut oil. — Then carefully position the sticker/label and you’re done!
Muscle Tamer Massage Bar
Supplies needed: Almond Oil*, Coconut Oil (solid)*, Beeswax*, Relief Essential Oil Blend, Cajeput Essential Oil, Copaiba Essential Oil, and Silicone Mold.

The first step was to place the indicated amount of coconut oil, almond oil, and beeswax into a microwave-safe bowl.
Once fully liquified, the mixture needed to cool for a short time (I waited about 5 minutes). I then added the required essential oils and blended a final time.
The liquid was poured into the silicone mold and set aside until it fully solidified.
After about an hour or so, it was ready to remove! So easy. 😀
