Amoda Tea January 2022 Tea Subscription Box Review

Amoda Tea is a premium tea Subscription Box that sends hand picked tea samples to your door every month.

Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.

Subscriptions are $20/month and shipping is free.

Let’s see what’s in the January 2022 Amoda Tea box!

Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a white Amoda Tea logo in the center.

A peek inside!

An info card listed all of the teas included in January’s box, as well as tasting notes for each one.

All of the teas were individually packaged in resealable pouches with labels noting their tasting notes, caffeine content, brewing instructions, and full ingredient list.

Plum Deluxe “Reading Nook Blend”

First up is “Reading Nook Blend” from Plum Deluxe. According to the product description on their website, this tea was created “to enjoy while perfecting some of our dearest passions: reading, writing, and enjoying conversation with friends”. It has plenty of caffeine to get your creative juices flowing and features a colorful blend of black tea, rose petals, lavender, chamomile, and vanilla essence.

SerendipiTea “Peace”

“Peace” is one of two special edition blends (Peace & Harmony) that SerendipiTea was asked to create to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps (March 2011). It features 5 ingredients from 5 different countries served by Peace Corps volunteers: organic black tea (India), cornflowers (Bulgaria), organic golden raisins (Nigeria), organic black tea (Sri Lanka), and organic bergamot (China). With every purchase of this tea, SerendipiTea donates 20% of the proceeds to the National Peace Corps Association. Very cool!

SerendipiTea “What a Pear!”

I’m not sure that I’ve ever gotten a tea with pear as one of the ingredients. — Apple seems to get all the attention when it comes to fruit-infused teas, so I’m happy to see the overlooked pear get his chance in the spotlight. This simple blend consists of just organic Chinese green tea, organic pears, and natural pear flavor. It’s low in caffeine and is said to have a “lively astringency and a lingering fragrance”.

Plum Deluxe “Vanilla Sugar Cookie”

According to the info card, this tea tastes just like a snickerdoodle cookie and I’m ALL about it. The 100% organic blend consists of green rooibos, cinnamon chips, blackberry leaf, ginger root, fennel seeds, and vanilla essence. Bonus: It has zero caffeine so it’s perfect for enjoying in the evening without worrying about losing any z’s.

Biodegradable Tea Filters

A roll of disposable/100% biodegradable tea filters are also included in every box. I didn’t count them, but it looks to be plenty to use with the included teas. Additional filters can also be purchased as an “add-on”.

Postcard

Instead of a seasonal photograph, January’s postcard featured a recipe for “Tea Infused Shortbread Cookies” that utilized one of the black teas included in this month’s box. Clever!

January’s Amoda Tea shipment included a nice selection of black, herbal, and green tea blends. My personal favorites were SerendipiTea’s “What a Pear!” and Plum Deluxe’s “Vanilla Sugar Cookie”. New year, new sips!
