September 2017 PostBox by Postmark’d Studio review time!
If you haven’t heard, Postbox by Postmark’d Studio is a new Subscription Box that features artisanal greeting cards and postcards created by artists around the globe. Each box will include 4 greeting cards, 1 postcard, postage stamps, and a fun artsy item such as a pen, pencil, or knick-knack based on that month’s particular theme. The cards are all handcrafted by a variety of different artists/companies, which means you’ll get a nice sampling of unique designs to send to your friends and loved ones.

Let’s see what’s in the September 2017 Postmark’d PostBox!
Everything was shipped in a small white box with a Postmark’d Studio logo on top.
A peek inside!
As always, the items were all neatly stacked together and secured with a piece of twine.
A 2-sided info card revealed the theme for September — Old School! It also listed all of the cards included, along with the artists who made them.
The reverse side of the info card highlighted an organization called “Letters for the Elderly“, which invites you to send cards/letters to elderly people who may not otherwise receive any correspondence. PostBox included an envelope for you to mail your completed (unsealed) cards to the organization’s home base for distribution.
All of September’s cards were individually packaged in plastic sleeves, with the exception of the lone postcard on the end.
Computer Calendar (Blackbird Letterpress/Baton Rouge, LA)
Helloooo, floppy disks! This white & green letterpress card features an old school computer design, complete with an attached mini 2018 calendar and MS-DOS style font. I’m not entirely sure what sort of occasion I would send this for, but it really doesn’t matter since I plan on displaying it in my own home anyway.
Pink Pearl (Sloe Gin Fizz/Ann Arbor, MI)
This quirky Pink Pearl eraser-themed card is perfect for sending to someone who you owe an apology. Let them know that you’ve made a mistake and feel bad enough about it to send an actual hand-written peace offering. SO much more thoughtful than a text or Facebook message.
Hello Interactive Card (Warren Tales, San Diego, CA)
I’ve don’t think I’ve ever seen a greeting card that came with a “bonus” card attached! This looks like a standard greeting card on the outside, but when you open it up there’s a postcard printed on the opposite side that your recipient can remove to send you a return message. Very cool! PostBox even included an extra postcard stamp for the “bonus” card.
The Original Laptop (a. favorite design, Chicago, IL)
A vintage-inspired postcard featuring an image of an old school typewriter — aka “the original laptop”. A universal design that could work for just about any message.
Library Cards (Frankie and Claude, Camas, WA) & Envelopes
A set of 50 two-sided classic library cards in 5 different colors. They’re printed on thick cardstock and measure 3″ x 5″. Great for making lists, scrapbooking, or even using as notecards. If you use them for the latter, PostBox also included a set of 10 handcrafted envelopes made with pages from recycled books. Neat!
Pencil Case, Pencils, Pink Pearl Eraser
Keeping with the old school theme, there was also a zippered pencil case complete with 12 pre-sharpened pencils and a Pink Pearl eraser. I may have been a tad bit over-excited about the whole “pre-sharpened” thing, since we have about 37548 pencils in our house and maybe 2 of them are sharpened. Ha.
Postmark’d Studio Postcard & Pencil
As always, a thick/sturdy Postmark’d Studio postcard was also included, along with a coordinating pencil.
Postage
Enough postage was provided to mail 4 greeting cards and 2 postcards. The eclipse stamp was actually heat-sensitive and changed color when you placed your finger over it.
I really enjoyed this month’s “old school” themed PostBox!
