December 2016 Holly Journals review time!
If you haven’t heard, Holly Journals is a monthly subscription box that features a handmade journal with other coordinating treasures to inspire and encourage your journaling habit. Each box will feature a different theme which all of the contents will center around. The highlight of the box will be a beautiful, handmade journal (approximately 7.5″ x 5.5″) with at least 50 pages — 100 front and back. Many different sizes, shapes, colors, and specialty types of paper are used to give these journals their custom, one-of-a-kind look and feel. You’ll also receive a list of journal prompts, a themed book dangle with charms, an embellishment pack, one or more pens, and a bonus surprise.

Let’s see what’s in the December 2016 Holly Journals box!
Everything was shipped in a small white box with a winter themed Holly Journals sticker on top.
A peek inside!
A signed welcome note was included along with an info card that revealed the theme of this month’s box — “Warm Winter Wishes”.
As always, the journal itself was wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a sticker.
The Journal – Snooow! Winter is my second-favorite season — behind autumn, of course, so the cover of the journal has me yearning for a good snowfall. (As of today, we still haven’t had more than a dusting here in western NY. ) As always, the book consists of at least 50 2-sided pages of various paper textures, sizes, and colors.
You may have to tilt your head to make out the image on the right, but it’s an idyllic snowy landscape scene that further increases my desire for a (long-absent) white Christmas.
I love the little details throughout the book like these festive snowflake cut-outs.
So many different patterns and textures!
Winter-themed quotes are also found hidden among the pages.
Plenty of lined pages are included as well.
December Journal Prompts – As promised, there was a helpful list of journal prompts/inspiration to help you get your creative juices flowing.
Pens – 3 different types of pens/markers were included this month: A fine-tip silver marker, a white gel pen, and a pen/stylus combo with sparkly white crystals.
Embellishments – As always, a variety of stickers, labels, paperclips, and tags were provided to add even more personality to the pages of your journal.
Dangle Charm – Every box includes a “dangle charm” to clip on the spiral binding of your journal. They typically go with the theme of that month and I’m loving this festive snowflake one.
Ornament – A sparkly blue snowflake ornament to hang on your tree or anywhere that could use a little wintery bling.
Aromatherapy Necklace – I’ve always thought these necklaces were kinda neat so I’m happy to finally get to try one out. It consists of a silver locket that opens up to reveal a diffuser pad. Using the included peppermint oil, place a few drops onto the pad, close the locket, place around your neck, and breathe in the minty goodness!
Candy Sticks – I’m going to take a wild guess and assume these are peppermint flavored.
