Review: 78 Alkofelic, Singapore’s First and Only Coffee Cocktail Bar

Dear lovelies,

78 Alkofelic, a newly opened Coffee Cocktail bar arrived in Singapore!
The name "Alkofelic" plays with the word "alcoholic" and "coffee". 7 and 8 are favourite numbers of the owners.

This bar offers a menu of classic and signature alcoholic coffee cocktails, premium coffee brews, a selection of teas and cold-pressed juices, and comfort food.

We tried 2 of their cold-pressed juices; one is a mix of Beetroot, Carrot and Green Apple, and the other a mix of Watermelon, Coconut and Mint.

The Beetroot, Carrot and Green Apple cold-pressed juice is a mix of sweetness from the carrot and sourness from the green apple. If you love a drink with a little sourness, this is the juice you can opt for!

My favourite is the Watermelon, Coconut and Mint cold-pressed juice! A really refreshing juice and the slight minty taste gave a cooling, soothing feel down the throat. The natural sweetness of the watermelon and coconut also pleases my tastebuds. A must-have on a hot weather!

The bar also offers flavoured popcorns to pair with your drinks instead of the conventional peanuts. How interesting! I love this concept!

We had dark chocolate popcorns, salted caramel popcorns and butterscotch popcorns. They do have other flavours such as cheese popcorns, you just have to ask them!

Not having our cocktails with an empty stomach, so we had savoury sides to go with our drinks.
We had their Thai Chicken Wrap (S$7.50 each wrap) and Margarita Pizza (S$13.50).

We love the texture of the wrap, so chewy and good, and the sauce made this Thai Chicken Wrap heavenly, but if there were more chucks of chicken it would be perfect!

This Margarita Pizza tasted like Hawaiian pizza but nevertheless, we love the generous amount of cheese and it tasted best when eaten hot.

One of their signature coffee cocktails we had was Romeo's Juliet (S$15).
This cocktail was made with Patron XO, frangelico, baileys and fresh milk.

This cocktail has a strong flavour of baileys and fresh milk with a subtle taste of coffee, a gentle and smooth cocktail that could easily become a lady's favourite drink. I love this!

Sharing some shots of the bartenders in action as they were preparing our next drink.

This cocktail is called the Ripple Stimulant (S$15).
It is made with Vodka, kahlua and coffee.

A strong taste of Vodka in this cocktail and I love the vanilla sweetness from the kahlua yet there is still a strong flavour of coffee. This has a stronger alcoholic and coffee punch as compared to Romeo's Juliet.

Following up next, we had Irish Coffee (S$15).
This is a blend of Coffee, Irish Whiskey and Cream.

This cocktail is complex, aromatic, smooth, yet slightly sweet, and I love the fragrance of the coffee in this cocktail. This is a sweet yet masculine drink.

Next, we had the Old Fashioned Coffee (S$15).
This is a blend of Double espresso, bourbon, bitters and brown sugar.

Oh boy, this is starting to get strong for me. This cocktail has a blend of bitter sweetness in taste. The Bourbon is enough to make me go a little light-headed yet the caffeine from the double espresso kicks in to keep me awake. It's a mixed feeling drinking this cocktail but it is definitely for a good drinker. A perfect drink for the man.

Last cocktail we had was Flying Singaporean (S$15).
A blend of Absinthe, XO and coffee.
Absinthe is said to make people see "fairies" hence the name "flying" for this cocktail.

This cocktail is too strong for my preference, the effect of Absinthe kicks in quick for me. I could only take sips of it. But well, there will be people out there who can appreciate this cocktail better than me, right?

To end the day, we had ice-cream to satisfy my sweet-tooth.
It is unbelievable that 78 Alkofelic has ice-cream, but they do!
I'm only satisfied with the chocolate ice-cream as the texture of their ice-cream needs improvement and I am glad that the staff at 78 Alkofelic are acceptable to feedback.
