I have been combating acne issue for many years and although my Skin condition has stabilized but it is inevitable that there are post-acne scars on my skin.
I envy people with good skin and I get very self-conscious and afraid when people get up close to me and see all the flaws on my skin. Due to the scarring on my skin, I do feel insecure, and especially upset when people comment about my skin. Having bear the insecurity for a long time, I finally decided that I want to get my scars totally treated.
I heard about TCS Aesthetic Central and their professionalism in helping patients achieve satisfactory results, hence I visited the clinic and Dr Ryan Tan attended to my treatment. He assessed my skin condition and recommended me to try Fractional CO2 Laser to target scar treatment.
I had been through 3 treatments thus far. In this post, I will be sharing about my treatment and the recovery results of my skin after each treatment.
First Treatment:
The basic steps of every treatment include cleansing of skin, application of numbing cream, wipe off numbing cream, then Dr Ryan Tan will conduct Fractional CO2 Laser with the laser machine.
Condition of my skin before my first treatment:
Doctor will determine the intensity of the laser beam to shoot. During this process, I could feel prickling sensation over my skin but no pain due to the effect of the numbing cream. Everything was alright until a minute after the laser treatment ended, my face will start to feel hot and turn red. Being in a cool place or apply cool pack over the face helps to minimise the pain felt on the skin, and the skin will not feel the pain once scabs started to form on the skin the next day. The staff at Tcs Aesthetics Central Clinic will advice on how to care for the skin after the treatment.
Foban cream is very important for after care of the skin.
After the treatment, the face appeared red and started to turn darker over the next few days due to scabbing appearing on the surface of the skin. Over the areas that the lasers were shot, there were uniform dots on the skin.
For my first treatment, I noticed slight peeling of my skin as dead skin cells fell off.
For my second and third treatments, I do not experience anymore skin peeling.
After the scabs dried, it will naturally fall off, mostly during washing of face or during the application of toner.
Results of my skin after my first treatment:
My skin appeared brighter, felt smoother and looked healthier as dead skin cells were removed. Scars had improved as they looked less depressed and my pores appear more refined. I love the results of my skin after the treatment.
Second Treatment:
Dr Ryan Tan increased the intensity of the Fractional CO2 Laser for my second treatment and my face appeared much redder than the first treatment.
My skin felt hotter and burning as compared to the first treatment. Got to hide from the sun.
Results of my skin after my second treatment:
My skin was definitely brighter, there was much improvement to the appearance of my scars and my skin was smoother. However, I also noticed that my skin gets dehydrated easily. My skin type changed from combination to dehydrated combination skin. I had lesser breakouts on my skin but my pores became more obvious when my skin is dehydrated and I had to hydrate my skin more often with hydration masks.
Third Treatment:
Dr Ryan Tan went higher on the intensity of the Fractional CO2 Laser for my third treatment and this time round my skin appeared much darker and more scabs formed on my skin.
Let me share with you the close up of my skin.
Some of the scabs had fallen off hence it appeared as though there was unevenness of skin tone but not to worry, the skin will be alright after all the scabs had fallen off.
Over the next 2 days, the scabs had all fallen off.
My skin is still not perfect but I've seen much improvement to my scarring issue. I am really happy with the results and am more confident in my skin now.
I will be returning to Dr Ryan Tan for another 2 treatments and I will be updating on the results of my skin after the treatments on this blog.
