Meet my Korean Hairstylist Ms Yum Jung Sun (Elin) from The Scene Hair Salon (a Korean opened hair salon) located at the heart of Singapore, Raffles City.
To prep myself for the Lunar New Year, I decided to have a change in hairstyle, and did a switch from a straight, shoulder length hairstyle to a soft, feminine Korean Perm.
I love the spacious and comfortable interior at The Scene.
Before my hair styling begin, Elin showed me various photos of Korean perm to better understand the style that I want to achieve before finalising on a suitable hairstyle for my face shape and current hair length.
I love Elin's professionalism on this as she seeks to understand my expectations.
Next, Elin started trimming my hair so that the curls would turn out layered, natural and voluminous.
Done with my haircut, and ready for a hair wash before I embark on the journey for a new hairstyle.
After washing, it was a series of treatments like application of Treatment Lotion, Perming Lotion, Heat Protection Conditioner, Neutralizer, Hair Treatment and Hair essence before and after curling of my hair.
There were various steps involved to protect my hair condition and structure. I believe this could be the reason why Koreans could change their hairstyles frequently but their hair looks healthy and in good condition.
It is finally time to do my hair perming.
Before removing the curlers, cold hair was blown over in to cool down the curlers.
Another step of hair steaming for the nutrients from the hair essence to be better absorbed.
The final step of washing and blow dry, and my new Korean perm is fully complete.
Although the process was long, but Elin has been very patient and constantly offering the best treatments and care for my hair to ensure that my hair stays in good condition. At The Scene hair salon, I experienced the sincere care and professionalism of the stylist for my hair and my hair turned out according to expectation, a soft natural looking curl and a flowy, feminine Korean style perm that I desire.
There are many Korean hair salons in Singapore, but when we finally meet one that really cares for our hair and offers us good hair services, we just want to stick to them and share this wonderful hair salon with everyone.
