Evan Martin Obituary; Resident Of Shakopee, Minnesota, Evan Martin Passes Away From Car Accident Injuries

On Wednesday evening, January 24, 2024, at the age of 16, Evan Martin of Shakopee, Minnesota, was engaged in a tragic car accident that left him with catastrophic injuries.

Evan attended Shakopee High School as a junior. According to reports, he had a brain injury that included destruction to a portion of his brain stem. Martin’s family has announced that he will no longer be on life support starting on Monday, January 29.

The Twin Cities Native Lacrosse community, to which Evan belonged, gathered to remember and love his life, reminiscing over their time together.

Evan’s family is greatly affected financially by unforeseen medical costs and lost income in the wake of this terrible event. Arrikka Theis set up a CaringBridge page and a GoFundMe page to help ease some of the burden. The community’s overwhelming kindness and support for Evan is evidence of the positive influence he has on everyone around him.

The money raised is intended to help his parents, Steve and Allison, get through this extremely difficult time by helping with the rising medical expenses and alleviating some of the associated financial burdens.

The neighborhood comes together in support of Evan’s family, providing consolation and useful assistance at this unbelievably trying time. The fundraising pages were made in response to the widespread desire to show love and support for Evan and his family during this terrible tragedy by uniting in solidarity.
