Sherborn, MA Car Accident: Driver dead after car crashes into tree along Western Avenue.

Sherborn, Massachusetts, police report that a person died after the vehicle they were driving struck a tree on a road.

A 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit that was entering Sherborn from Framingham at a fast pace started to slide and slammed with a tree, according to Sherborn police. The collision happened just after 9:20 p.m. on Friday along Western Avenue.

According to authorities, the impact caused the top of the vehicle to collapse into the driver’s side compartment area, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver could not be saved or extracted from the car, according to the police. Paramedics declared the motorist, who has not been identified by authorities, dead at the crash scene.

Sherborn police said that the Volkswagen was estimated to be moving at almost 70 mph in a 35 mph zone.

According to the police, the crash did not result in any additional injuries or car damage.
