Mansour was last seen at the Nasser medical complex in Khan Yunis, which is now surrounded by Israeli forces.

Mansour Shouma’s mother, Mai Hussein, stated that his team is currently in charge of managing all of Mansour’s accounts. “Mansour is still missing and will not see your messages. Today, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) and seventeen other media freedom and journalist organizations joined forces to urge the High Representative for the European Union on Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, to advocate for the safeguarding of journalists and the preservation of press freedom in the midst of the Israel-Gaza conflict. The correspondence was addressed to Borrell.

The letter delineates the unparalleled fatal toll among journalists, describing the Israel-Gaza conflict as one of the most catastrophic incidents in terms of the rapid loss of journalistic lives. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has recorded the deaths of 97 journalists and media workers in Gaza since the outbreak of hostilities: three Lebanese journalists, four Israeli journalists, and ninety Palestinian journalists.
