Cydney Morriss Car Accident: 51-Year-Old Lefors Wooman, Cydney Morriss Killed in Carson County Car Crash

Cydney Morriss Car Accident: In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, a life was lost following a collision between a semi-truck and a vehicle in Carson County. The victim, identified as Cydney Morriss, aged 51 and hailing from Lefors, met her untimely demise in this unfortunate accident.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the incident occurred at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, October 14. A 2020 Kenworth truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was travelling westbound on state Hwy. 152, situated approximately four miles to the west of Skellytown. Simultaneously, a 2012 Kia Soul was heading eastbound on the same highway, approaching the semi-truck.

Under circumstances yet to be determined, the driver of the Kia failed to maintain their lane and swerved into the westbound lane, directly into the path of the oncoming semi-truck, as reported by the DPS. In a desperate attempt to avoid the collision, the semi-truck driver steered towards the north shoulder, but regrettably, the impact could not be averted.

The Kia sustained a devastating frontal collision with the truck tractor’s rear left dual wheels. Tragically, Cydney Morriss, the sole occupant of the Kia, could not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hutchinson County Justice of the Peace Jean Hardman was the official who confirmed her passing.

Remarkably, the driver of the semi-truck emerged from the incident without sustaining any injuries.
