Marilyn Starke Car Accident: A 72-year-old woman was tragically killed in a three-vehicle accident on Thursday near Decatur.

Marilyn Starke, a resident of Decatur, was pronounced deceased at Wise Health System in Decatur, according to authorities.

Starke was driving a Buick Encore at 7:52 p.m. when she became the victim of a Volkswagen unsafely passing a Ram 2500 on Farm-to-Market Road 51, 5.7 miles northeast of Decatur, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Volkswagen, driven by a 57-year-old Krum resident, struck the back left of the Ram and the front left of the Buick, resulting in the Buick overturning in a bar ditch. Starke was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
