Syles Ular Obituary: In a tragic incident on Staten Island, a 13-year-old boy named Syles Ular was fatally stabbed while aboard an MTA bus, ultimately succumbing to his injuries. The heartbreaking incident unfolded on Friday, and a 14-year-old boy is currently in police custody in connection with the incident.

The distressing event transpired just after 2:30 p.m. while the bus was travelling along Hyland Boulevard near Littlefield Avenue.

Eyewitnesses revealed that a confrontation erupted between Syles Ular and another teenager who had boarded the bus. The two teenagers engaged in a heated exchange of words, escalating the situation.

NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell provided further insight into the harrowing encounter, stating, “Witnesses state there’s an argument on a bus. A knife was produced, and gang signs were being shown back and forth.” Shockingly, the second teenager allegedly stabbed Syles Ular in the chest during this altercation.

A fellow teen who was present on the bus at the time recounted the horrifying incident, saying, “The other kid who got stabbed was sitting on the bus with us, like a few seats ahead of us, and the other kid walks in and they start yelling at each other. I guess they knew each other, had beef or something. And he walked over, pulled a knife out of his pocket, grabbed him and started stabbing him. They started wrestling back and forth and just kept stabbing him until he left the bus and ran off.”

According to witnesses, Syles Ular, the victim, staggered off the bus, desperately calling out for assistance. The teenage witness described the chilling moment, saying, “He screamed, ‘Help, someone call the cops; I can’t breathe.’”

The assailant fled the scene hastily, displaying nervous behaviour and frequently checking his surroundings before making a quick escape, according to witness Anthony Esemplaire.

Fortunately, two brave passersby intervened in the incident: a state environmental conservation officer and a retired NYPD sergeant. They managed to locate and detain the 14-year-old suspect before the arrival of law enforcement. Chief John Chell recounted the events, saying, “The retired sergeant starts to follow the male who did the stabbing. At this time, another witness points him out and says, ‘This person just stabbed somebody,’ and the sergeant effects the arrest.”

Tragically, despite the efforts of those involved, Syles Ular was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The young victim, identified as Syles Ular, resided on Staten Island, adding to the sombre atmosphere surrounding this devastating incident.
