Thai Street Food – InAzia

InAzia is a Pan Asian restaurant in Sheraton Grand, Whitefield currently running the Thai Street food festival headed by Chef Rungtiwa. The festival runs between 16th to 29th August between 7 to 11pm. Chef Rungtiwa promises to take everyone through a street food culinary journey of her home country – Thailand. A special menu has been curated for this event. The décor of this restaurant is modern Asian with colorful interiors. Their were even musicians from Thailand to play on their traditional instruments.

We ordered the Taro Cake with is made with Yam. These deep fried delicacies was savory, a bit sweet and salty. These are best tried with some Asian inspired cocktails. The next we had the Tom Yam soup which was sour from the tamarind. The soup was incredibly spicy and we loved it! It had mushrooms, Thai herbs, carrots, red chilies. The Som Tum Salad made with raw papaya in tamarind sauce, chili, garlic was good as well.

For the main course we had the Thai Curry with Jasmine Rice. The curry was made in Coconut milk with water chestnut, mushrooms and other veggies, best tried with the Jasmine rice. But my favorite was the Phad Thai Noodles. These Stir-fried rice flat noodles were sweet and savory. The smoky fumes of the wok had sipped right into the noodles giving it a rustic and earthy taste. While the peanuts and bean sprouts gave it a crunchy texture.

For desserts we had the Sang Ka Ya Fak Tong and the Tab Tim Grob. The custard was baked in whole Pumpkin which looked great. The Tab Tim Grob was the best with Coconut milk, jackfruit, sweet jelly and ice. Probably the only dessert we loved with jackfruit. The ice gave it a crunchy texture as well.

The service was bit on the slower side and all the staff needed a bit more hospitality.
