Today in this post, we are reviewing Clickfunnels 2.0, the improved version of ClickFunnels 1.0.

As we all know, ClickFunnels is one of the best funnel-building platforms that provide high-converting sales funnels and also world-class content about marketing.

What is ClickFunnels 2.0? When will it be released?

ClickFunnels is a brand new version of ClickFunnels 1.0. The previous version was more of a funnel-building software, while ClickFunnels 2.0 is an all-in-one marketing platform with almost all the tools you need to run a successful online business similar to Kajabi.

So, what’s included in ClickFunnels 2.0?

ClickFunnels 2.0 comes with a handful of features. These include –

  • Funnel hub – This is where you can build your entire site and the funnels.
  • New page builder with features like simultaneous page editing (page editor 2.0), universal sections, custom coding the theme, block templates, and more.
  • Blog builder with layouts and SEO features.
  • Improved pagespeed
  • Global products, eCommerce, customer center, and shopping cart features.
  • Email marketing and CRM
  • Visual automation builder with free canvas.
  • Followup funnels – advanced email marketing
  • Online course builder and membership sites
  • Real-time analytics dashboard
  • Sales funnel stats
  • Team collaboration

As it comes with a lot of features, it eliminates the need for third-party integrations. So, ClickFunnels 2.0 has a suite of all the tools.

What’s new in Clickfunnels 2.0? (Features reviewed)

FunnelHub

FunnelHub is ClickFunnels 2.0’s central area where you can manage all the funnels, pages, blogs, URL redirects, courses, and even the entire site.

Let’s first talk about funnels.

Funnels:

ClickFunnels 2.0 has over 15+ pre-made funnel recipes that you can import with just a single click.

Some of the most used recipes include –

  • Optin funnel
  • Lead magnet funnel
  • Product launch funnel
  • Video sales letter funnel
  • Squeeze page funnel

Even, you can build funnels from scratch using their brand-new page builder.

Funnel flows:

Funnel flows are nothing but a set of actions (like sending an email, adding to a course, creating an affiliate, etc) that you can execute when a funnel workflow is triggered. The real magic happens when you combine funnels with workflows. These flows help you build complex funnels as well. These workflow features are absent in the previous version.

You can trigger multiple funnels and automate the tasks to run on autopilot. This funnel canvas is very similar to that of Kartra’s sequence builder. It helps you visualize and build the funnels with ease.

To build the funnel workflow these below tasks are available –

  • Send an email
  • Add or remove a tag
  • Add notes to your contact’s profile
  • Set notifications for you
  • Trigger the Webhooks to pass information from ClickFunnels to your 3rd party app
  • Enroll customers in courses.

The best thing is ClickFunnels 2.0 flows support a conditional split path means you can split the workflow based on the set conditions.

Also, you can split-test your workflow to show different pages to the user and divide the percentage of traffic.

There are a few automations ClickFunnels is currently working on, and you can expect them soon –

  • Send a sequence of emails
  • Conditional goal
  • Create a task (funnel task manager)
  • Create affiliate (at any stage of the workflow!)
  • 3rd party integration right inside flow builder (it opens a whole new range of opportunities)

Above is the funnel workflow I have created for my course – BloggingX Automation System.

  • Step 1 -> Workflow trigger – Successful purchase of BloggingX Automation System.
  • Step 2 -> Send an email – Thanks for purchasing BloggingX Automation System
  • Step 3 -> Enroll then in my course
  • Step 4 -> Add a tag BAS_Enrolled.
  • Step 5 -> After 2 days, send them an email asking for feedback.

Funnel analytics:

ClickFunnels provides analytics on the funnel dashboard itself. The metrics include – displays of earnings per click, sales, and average cart values.

You can add affiliate and UTM parameters and apply filters for more condensed data. (Refer to the screenshot above).

This feature alone entirely replaces the need for tools like Funnelytics and Geru.

Note: You can share the funnels with your team members so that they can take over and design them. But they’ll not have access to funnel analytics.

Blog builder

Unlike ClickFunnels 1.0, ClickFunnels 2.0 has a blog builder similar to Kajabi’s blog feature. Both tools have made their blogs SEO-friendly, and the pages are optimized for fast load speeds.

You can add featured images, tags, categories, set visibility options, etc.

If you want to do content marketing for your product or service, you can get started with ClickFunnels blogs.

But if you need more flexibility, additional plugins, and page building blocks, you can go with dedicated CMS tools like WordPress.

But SaaS-based blogging solutions can be very quick and easy to collaborate.

Page builder

ClickFunnels 2.0’s page builder has rows, sections, code, a footer header, and block templates to design the pages. The old version also has the same page builder features.

ClickFunnels has very few block templates and page templates compared to say Kartra.

That said, you will really like this new page builder experience. You will feel like you are using premium page builders like Elementor or Leadpages.

As we already know, ClickFunnels 2.0 has a team collaboration feature where the team members can control and edit your funnel pages, providing you a multi-user simultaneous page-building experience.

Universal sections

ClickFunnels 1.0 had a drawback in that you cannot use the same design across multiple pages. The workaround was either to duplicate the pages or create them manually each time.

But the new version has something called a universal section, which is very similar to global sections in the case of tools like Elementor. You can create universal sections to use anywhere on your pages or on the site. The changes you made to these sections will be reflected all over the site.

New course builder and membership sites

ClickFunnels 2.0 has a dedicated course builder and memberships.

It has a basic course (for short content or for product launches) and nested course templates (helpful for long content).

ClickFunnels course curriculum consists of modules and lessons.

It seems that ClickFunnels courses are developed inspired by Kajabi’s courses. If you have used Kajabi, the new design screams this.

You can lock or drip-feed any of the modules. You can use these features for course compliance.

You can lock the modules until all the previous ones are completed.

This module-locking feature is also great for membership sites. You can lock the module content to be available only for premium members.

ClickFunnels has a lesson template to add content to the courses and all the lessons, by default follow this template.

To customize the lesson content, you need first to edit the lesson template. It is annoying as you need to edit the template each time you want to edit the content structure, adding more friction . This is a big downside . So, adding the course content is not as fun as in LMS tools like Teachable or Thinkific.

ClickFunnels supports content types like text, image, video/audio, custom JS/HTML, etc. The best thing is you can add elements like course published date, breadcrumbs, collections, author, etc.

Note: ClickFunnels course builder cannot replace dedicated LMS tools like Teachable, as it lacks course completion certificates, assessments, quizzes, comments, course compliance features (enforcing the quiz completion, enforcing the lecture order, enforcing the lesson completion), etc. If you strongly need these features, you can consider going with Teachable to host your courses. For the rest, you can use ClickFunnels.

Also, if you compare ClickFunnels vs Kajabi in this course-building aspect, Kajabi wins. Kajabi is more of an advanced course creation platform, while ClickFunnels just has a basic courses feature. Unlike Kajabi, it lacks student-level video retention time reports, course templates, flexible course content options, comments, etc.

Student enrollment:

When it comes to enrollment, you can create a funnel to automatically enroll the students after a successful purchase. Just trigger your course workflow and add a “course enrollment” flow to it. It is that simple!

A downside: ClickFunnels lacks community features, unlike tools like Thinkific or Kajabi. If you want to create course-specific communities to keep your students engaged, you can consider community tools like Mighty Networks or Circle. Both these are a powerful combo of courses + online communities.

eCommerce and shopping cart

Products

In ClickFunnels, you can create digital products, physical products, or bundles.

For setting up the pricing, you have two options: One-time fee and subscriptions. If you want to offer product trials free or paid, you can do this in the subscription plans. You can also assist your customers in setting up and even charge them for it.

If you are selling physical products, it has a variants feature where you can allow users to select different sizes or colors.

ClickFunnels also comes with inventory, shipping, and taxes features. You can add the regional tax code while selling your products or services.

What’s more?

The products that are displayed in the customer corner and in your online store can be configured. The customer center is a store portal where you can display all your products for customers to buy, just like an online store.

But make sure you need to enable these features while creating the products.

Let’s see all the eCommerce features that ClickFunnels 2.0 comes with.

ClickFunnels 2.0 has eCommerce features, and now it has an in-built shopping cart, eliminating the need for external services like Shopify or Bigcommerce. It has global products (you can use the same product in multiple funnels), a member login area (for memberships), taxes, inventory & shipping (coming soon), orders, a customer center (just like a store portal), abandoned carts, and much more.

It also provides checkout templates that are conversion optimized. You can even split-test the pages to see which converts better.

Email marketing

ClickFunnels has several email templates in various categories like promotional, invitational, newsletters, and order confirmation emails. You can design emails from scratch.

It has a dedicated drag-and-drop email editor with various blocks to design the emails.

As of now, you can only send broadcast emails. They are working on releasing follow-up sequences which will be available soon. If you need this feature, you can create email funnels with delays (using flows).

Currently, you can send emails from the ClickFunnels domain. They are working on providing email service providers like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Apple mail, etc.

Unlike tools like Kartra, as of now, ClickFunnels is lacking the email split testing feature.

CRM

ClickFunnels 2.0’s CRM tool helps you manage all the visitor and customer data in one tool. It even tracks the visitors who have visited your pages and maintains a log of them.

For each contact, it gives details on their activities, notes you added, workflows & broadcasts they are in, their orders, fulfillments, enrollments, etc.

You can add tags, create segments for easier contact management, import contacts from other tools, etc. You can use ClickFunnels workflows to automate the tasks like adding a tag, adding a note, sending an email to them, etc. Just set it and forget it.

ClickFunnels gives you the flexibility to create custom fields to collect as much data as you need from the leads. Along with this, there is also a lead-scoring feature available. To quantify the value of leads, you can assign points for their activities.

Reports and analytics

ClickFunnels 2.0 has much improved reports with detailed analytics and real-time analysis.

You have reports for –

  • Sales
  • Pageviews
  • Subscriptions
  • Course progress
  • Opt-ins

There is also a live view feature available where you can analyze what’s happening on your site with real-time data. Think of Google Analytics!

When it comes to email analytics, the revenue-related stats, and the email open rate, click rate will be available soon.

You can also analyze the reports for individual funnels which gives metrics like total page views, total opt-ins, total orders, conversion rate, product sales, etc.

ClickFunnels 2.0 pricing

ClickFunnels 2.0’ pricing starts at $149/mo. It is limited to just 20 funnels, 3 courses, 1 payment gateway, and 1 admin user. But it lacks features like an affiliate program, removes branding, and a liquid theme editor (helpful if you are a developer and want to custom code the theme). To avail these features and gain access to more funnels & courses, you need to go with the Pro plan at $197/mo.

For most of the users, this plan would be ideal.

If you have an agency or a larger business with more websites and you need the ability to create unlimited funnels and access to advanced analytics, you can consider going with the FunnelHacker plan that costs $297/mo.

If you think ClickFunnels is not affordable, you can consider its affordable alternatives like Systeme.io.

Before making the final choice, you can try out the tool by signing up for its trial. To access the free trial, you need to sign up for their First Funnel Challenge.
