July 2017 Owlcrate Review & Coupon

You know that feeling you get when you see a book that just haunts you until you absolutely must buy it? Yeah, that was me last week. After years of avoiding it, I finally began the epic masterpiece that is Game of Thrones. Of course, once obsessed with the show, I had to read the books. My eye immediately fell on the illustrated edition. If you haven't seen it, it's magnificent. But let's get to another new book and talk about the July Owlcrate box!

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code WELCOME10 at signup for 10% off your first box!

This month's theme is Wanderlust . As always, there is a detailed information card that tells you all about the items you'll find in your July box.

Backpack --- This is an exclusive item designed by the Owlcrate team! It's a simple canvas bag that's perfect for little daytrips.

It's a simple but beautiful design, isn't it? The quote in the middle with the elvish text along the perimeter. It's gorgeous.

Mudpuppy Bag Tag --- So, this is probably the cutest luggage tag I have ever seen. I'm not even joking. It's adorable.

Funko Pop! Keychain --- As with every Funko item I acquire, my son has already confiscated this. Obviously, this cute little dude is Newt Scamander and he's ready to travel with his bag in tow!

Pocket Journal --- This cute little pocket journal is from Ooly is the perfect size to toss in your backpack. Owlcrate sent out 8 different designs and I'm really happy with this one.

Pocket Mirror --- This pocket mirror was designed exclusively for Owlcrate byMiss Phi and is inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic (which I own but have still not managed to get to yet). The phrase on it 'As Travers' means 'To Travel'.

Art Print --- I love framing these prints and putting them on my bookshelves. It's an Owlcrate Exclusive and was designed by Shailey Ann Designs. It features a quote by Francois Rabelais and is also inspired by the novel Looking For Alaska.

The Gentlemans Guide To Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee ---
I'm really really loving this Owlcrate exclusive covers they've been doing lately! Here's the synopsis for this month's selection from Goodreads:

"Henry “Monty” Montague was born and bred to be a gentleman, but he was never one to be tamed. The finest boarding schools in England and the constant disapproval of his father haven’t been able to curb any of his roguish passions—not for gambling halls, late nights spent with a bottle of spirits, or waking up in the arms of women or men.

But as Monty embarks on his Grand Tour of Europe, his quest for a life filled with pleasure and vice is in danger of coming to an end. Not only does his father expect him to take over the family’s estate upon his return, but Monty is also nursing an impossible crush on his best friend and traveling companion, Percy.

Still it isn’t in Monty’s nature to give up. Even with his younger sister, Felicity, in tow, he vows to make this yearlong escapade one last hedonistic hurrah and flirt with Percy from Paris to Rome. But when one of Monty’s reckless decisions turns their trip abroad into a harrowing manhunt that spans across Europe, it calls into question everything he knows, including his relationship with the boy he adores."

Included is a bookplate signed by the author,

As always, there is a lovely note from the author to Owlcrate subscribers, as well as this cute map poster that lays out the route our travelers take in the story.

If you think, at this point, that I could ever dislike my monthly Owlcrate box, you are sorely mistaken. Obviously, I love and am obsessed with this subscription and the joyous experience it brings me each and every month. Owlcrate kills it every time!
