Review: AmorePacific Treatment Cleansing Foam

I’m a bit sad that my previous Gongjinhyang cleanser from The History of Whoo has run out – it was one of the better cleansers I’ve tried so far. Alas, my angbao moneh doesn’t quite cover the cost (I think it’s about 50-60ish?), so I decided to rummage in my stash to see what else I could try. It wasn’t a komplete loss – I found this K-gem hidden. Yayness for my obsessive shopping and hoarding skills!

AmorePacific Treatment Cleansing Foam – KRW36,000

I say…

The Packaging: It comes in a generously fat tube that makes for comfortable squeezing (I know, I know, I’m odd that way), and it’s pretty stable.

The Scent: It has that distinctive AmorePacific scent – not particularly the most fragrant scent with a slight chemical tinge. It’s not stinky though – it’s just not your usual scent (and there’s nothing herbal either).

The Texture: It’s a rather lightweight and yet creamy cleansing foam with little beads for exfoliation (that gradually disappear as you massage your skin). It froths up into a medium-consistency foam, but if you’re gonna use it with a cleansing gadget, it would be better if you used a larger amount of product to get a thicker foam.

The Verdict: It leaves my skin feeling clean enough, and there’s a very, very, veryyy slight drying sensation (i.e. my skin doesn’t feel as hydrated as it normally does with the Gongjinghyang History of Whoo cleanser). That said, it doesn’t make my skin feel stripped dry or tight though. After several weeks of usage, I am happy to report: a) there’s no breakouts, b) the skin actually does feel a bit more refined/smoother, and c) the skin actually looks brightened up – the overall aura of the skin seems more radiant and clearer. I’d say this is a pretty decent cleanser that might be more suited to those with combi-oily or oily skintypes; those whose skin types are drier or combi-dry, you can try this too if you want, but be sure to apply your hydrating moisturisers as usual.
