On Saturday I decided to go against every natural instinct I have and actually start Christmas shopping. Yes you read it right, me the normally grinch like girl around this time of year actually Christmas shopped in November. I chose to head into Solihull as it had the one shop that was number one on my list to visit and the rest well, was a bonus.
Any trip to Touchwood Solihull for me includes food and this time we opted to go to Giraffe in the heart of the Touchwood Shopping complex. We've been to Giraffe before and each time we always experience Great Customer Service and eat yummy food. I mention this now because a huge pet peeve of mine is when great customer service isn't acknowledged - people are quick to complain but not praise. On this visit we were taken care of by Harriet so big thank you to her as her banter and recommendations were lovely.
A thing to know about me is that if there's a Burger on the menu I'm having it, it's a predictable trait my future hubby has learned to live with.. On this visit I opted for the "The Classic' burger which has mixed leaves, tomato and a 'special' Giraffe burger sauce which sounds dodgy but is delicious. As you can see from my picture the burger itself is thick and moist and served on a very pretty wood panel - I love those little details. The crisp, fresh salad and toasty poppy seed bun make the whole thing just melt in the mouth gorgeousness and a real pleasure to eat! To go alongside I went with sweet potato fries that have the skin on and I've been getting really into sweet potato recently and it turns out it gave the whole meal an extra flavour level I hadn't experienced before. As a lover of burgers I can say this really does rate up there with the best I've ever had and I will be back for more!
I'm looking forward to popping back to Giraffe soon and experiencing the Christmas menu - my stomach is rumbling already!
