Always one to have an opinion, I thought I would extend my ranting into the world of celebs. I am usually a huge fan of presenters with an indie style but I surprised myself with how much I disliked The Joy of Teen Sex presenter, Billie JD Porter.

I think I was far too young to appreciate (or not) Billie's presenting skills on the Chanel 4 show, The Joy of Teen Sex, due to the fact that when it was fist aired in 2011, I was only thirteen.
However, Billie made her mark as a roaming teenage reporter, investigating sensitive subjects such as sex over the internet and the existence of glamour models.
In more recent times, Billie has been part of the Vice media group, where she had her Half-Life story published. Billie's less than heart-warming tale took us through her childhood, up to her chance encounter with Vice and quite frankly, I found her to be outrageously pretentious, (or maybe I was just jealous of the fact she got to write for Vice). Billie appeared to glorify sleeping with older guys and underage drinking (I know, she makes Miley seem like a saint!) and to me this just didn't seem right.
I consider her to be in a privileged position, being the voice of youth. Surely her actions are not acceptable? She is an influential young journalist who is a role model to many young people. I think she needs to portray a more positive image of growing up as she made her experience seem like a glorified episode of Skins, which is simply not a good example to be setting.
I get it, controversy is what is rated in today's modern society of teens rebelling for the fun of it, but surely Billie JD has more sense than to promote it in such a sleazy way!?

However, I recently started watching Billie's new BBC3 series Secrets of South America, which kicked off with the episode Extreme Beauty Queens. I only really wanted to watch is so that I had another thing to add to my list 'Things I dislike about Billie JD', however I was a little surprised with how much she has grown and actually stated to enjoy it! Billie seems to have matured a lot, however her presenting style seemed awfully mechanic, especially when she visiting the slums in Venezuela and visiting the beauty queens who dedicate their entire lives to being conventionally 'beautiful'.
