Book Review: Mount Everest by Jim Meirose

by M. J. Joachim

Repetitive to the point of almost boring me to tears, this Book had a way of driving me crazy. I can get away with saying that, because the main story line is about a crazy prostitute released from a mental hospital, living with her hoarding mother and constantly having sex for pay with local guys up in her room, which happens to be the only clean room in the House.

I get it. The rest of the house stinks to high heaven, is extremely difficult to navigate to get to her room and mom is a recluse whose house has all but been condemned. Daughter helps pay the bills with payments collected from her johns, and the big catch is that daughter is doing everything she can to help save the house, because the government has determined it’s unsuitable for anyone to live in.

Over and over again, I get it already. I get it. And there’s only so much I can take of reading similar scenes play out over and over again. I can almost smell the filth and picture the wall to wall debris. It’s easy to agree with the author, expressed through the johns in the pages, this house is beyond gross and Christine, the daughter, is definitely off her rocker.

No kudos from me for this book, I’m afraid. There simply wasn’t enough substance to make it worth my while to read. There was nothing in the Table of Contents, which makes it difficult to navigate in ebook format. I still managed, but a Table of Contents would have been nice.

That’s all for now. Hopefully the next book I read will be a whole lot better.

Thanks for stopping by, and please don’t forget to add this blog to your list of those you contribute to. Thank you!

Best to all,
