I started a new ad free blog yesterday called M. J. Joachim’s World. Using Google Contributor, which encourages blog followers to subscribe (and contribute) to blogs via the contributor feature shown on them, thereby reducing the amount of ads they see, I took the notion one further and made my new blog completely ad free, asking people to support this concept by adding my blog to their Contributor list. I like the idea so much, that I’m going to do the same thing here on Writing Tips.
The reality is that those few pennies I earn aren’t significant enough in any way to make much of a difference, and I continue to keep plugging away, reading and writing book reviews, sharing any knowledge pertaining to writing that I can, regardless of the pennies generated per page view. That said, I like a blog that is less cluttered and more focused on content, without being distracted by so many ads.
In the interest of making this blog even better than it already is, I’ve decided to provide you with an ad free experience here. All I ask is that you consider including this blog in your list of Contributor blogs, via the Google Contributor feature listed in the top right hand corner. While Google promises to reduce the number of ads you see when you add a blog to the list, I promise to keep this blog completely ad free, hoping and trusting in your continued support and encouragement for the work I do here.
There’s much to be said about how my views of blogging are changing and growing these days. Most of that will be shared on the new blog, since this blog is strictly devoted to all things writing. Please take a moment to visit and maybe even follow M. J. Joachim’s World. All things being what they are, it seems likely that these are the two blogs I will devote the most time to now and in the future. All this in an effort to press an easy button, minimizing some of my self imposed tasks and consolidating my writing and publishing into a much more manageable activity.
