Make Some Sesame Street Ornaments

#TigerStrypesBlog #Kids #Television

I think almost everybody knows what “Sesame Street” is…do you?  I’m in my mid-40’s and grew up with it, then had my son watching it, when he was little.  We even called my Uncle Mike “Oscar,” since he could sometimes be a Grouch!! ha/ha  There are so many memories of this show, and lessons that it taught.  Being able to get along with everyone, no matter what.  I sure wish that there were more shows like it on television today.

When I was shopping, after the holidays, the store had those clear Ornaments on sale for like $0.10 each!  I grabbed a bunch, just knowing that I would figure something out to use them for later.  I thought a fun thing to do, would be to make some decor that would be good all year.  Now, I know my son is older, but I figured that this would be a great lesson for those of you with little ones.  This is a great way to decorate a kid’s room, or if you want to do a themed tree for the holidays…or any time of the year.  They were pretty easy to make, and just make you smile!

Let me know what you think about the bottles in the comments.  I sure hope that you like the tutorial, and pray that you have a blessed day!

Please be sure to comment and share this craft on your social media channels – thanks so much!!

Materials/Tools Used:

  • Clear Ornaments
  • Shredded Paper/Raffia (Colored)
  • Adhesive Vinyl
  • Cricut or Printer
  • & Time!

Instructions for the Sesame Street Ornaments:

The project began with cutting out some faces with my Cricut.  I used scrap pieces and ran it through the machine on regular adhesive vinyl.

Once the pieces were cut out, I then used my Pin Pen to weed them.  When that was done, I added transfer tape to put them onto the ornaments.  You’ll have to snip the tape in different places, to get it to attach to the round piece evenly.  Once it’s on, just remove the transfer tape slowly and secure it into place.

After the vinyl was attached, I stuffed the ornament with the coordinating color of shredded paper.  I found small bags of different colors at the local dollar store, so it was really easy to do.

When you have the piece stuffed completely, just reattach the hanging portion and display it wherever you wish.  Perfect for a kid’s room (be careful if they are younger, as the ornament top & paper could be a choking hazard), or a special cartoon tree for the holidays.

So, what do you think?  I hope you like it!

Please take a minute to leave me a comment on what you would like to create, and maybe if you have any tips on how to do it different, or better!

Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!
