Cabinet approves Rs 10,683 crore PLI scheme for the textiles sector

Anurag Thakur and Piyush Goyal in a cabinet briefing announced that the cabinet has approved the proposal for a production-linked incentive scheme for specific segments in the textiles sector.

The cabinet has approved the PLI scheme for textiles for man-made fiber apparel, MMF fabrics, and ten segments of technical textiles.

Piyush Goyal said that 2/3rd share of the international textile market is man-made & technical textile.

This PLI scheme has been approved to contribute to the production of man-made fibers across the globe.

States like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana will benefit as the factories are based around aspirational districts, or Tier-3 & Tier-4 cities will be given priority.
