Kennywood with BIG kids!

I posted a few years ago about going to Kennywood with toddlers. Well those toddlers are growing up and have turned into big kids.

Big kids who LOVE roller coasters and the thrills of Kennywood.

We had season passes this year which enabled us to visit much more than the previous years. It was loads of fun and I just loved it. Before this year the kids were too short for a few of the roller coasters. They’re not anymore!

Boy 2 was very brave. He went on the Aero360.

That’s the Aero360. I was shocked, honestly. He’s the kid who REFUSES to go on the Phantoms Revenge again because it’s too high. He screamed the entire time we were on it (the hubs and boy 1 didn’t want to go on. So it was Momma and boy 2) and regretted his decisions in life. I laughed. The entire time.

We FINALLY were able to go on the Thunderbolt. While the Jackrabbit was the favorite, Thunderbolt beat it out unanimously between the two of them. We went on it twice.

The final ride of the day? The Sky Rocket, not to be confused with the Sky Coaster.

The first picture is the sky rocket. Second is the sky coaster. I’ve rode both once. The kids LOVED the sky rocket. They want to ride the sky coaster. Mom has forbidden it until they’re married and not with me. Hecks no.

It’s the end of the season though. The last regular day was Labor Day. Just a few days ago. I had planned on going; however, that pesky work schedule kept me away.

Have no fears though, or perhaps you should. The next events to come up, beside the big brew thing at the end of the month, is the Phantom Fright Nights. Which we love. The kids are fascinated with Halloween and spookiness. Which means we go. The park transforms into a terrorland rather than an wonderland. The ghosts, goblins, clowns, and haunted houses are exhilarating. They really get the heart pumping. Plus the food. I love the food.

Of course that’s not the end of the Holiday season for Kennywood. Once Halloween has come to an end, they prepare for Holiday Lights where the amusement park is truly transformed into a wonderland. A great big Christmas wonderland!!! We haven’t gone yet. I plan on it some year. Perhaps this year.
